Nothing has changed since after the game. They are out but the scans are today - it's 48 hours afterwards. We hope they are light injuries, but they are out until after the international break. on Ramsey, Ospina, Arteta… It's the same for them. You plan for them all after the international break. on his right-sided options at Swansea… Campbell and Alex Iwobi. Santi can play there as well but he has become very important centrally. The problem sometimes is that you can destroy two departments if you move one player out. We control the ball better with Santi in the middle. please log in to view this image
Massive game. Will be good to have the likes of Ozil, Cazorla, Sanchez, Bellerin, Kos etc back for this game.
If Oxo and Theo aren't fit I'd rather play Gibbs LW and move Sanchez RW (or if Debuchy wasn't playing absolute rubbish atm put him RB, Bellerin RW and Sanchez LW). But hopefully Oxo's injury was just precautionary and he'll be fit for Swansea.
Time for Joel Campbell to get his chance. If he doesn't play even now then why didn't we sell him when his stock was high(est) after his loan spell?
If Walcott and OXO are injured we are royally ****ed, other than Campbell, we don't have any other actual attacking options......Wenger's decision to not buy a single outfield player looks really dumb now, as it did at the time when he didn't buy any. Can't understand why we did not go for any new players when we knew Welbeck and Wilshere were out long term, and the same for Rosicky, we knew he was crocked too before the transfer window closed, and we did nothing. You're walking a slippery slope when you do such things. Eventually these injuries will cost us in games, and in the long run it makes or breaks your chances of winning silverware, we always have to ****ing put ourselves in difficult situations. We will have to put something like 4-5 defensive players on the bench with the GK at the moment because we don't have any actual first team attacking players other than the few that are fit to play.
----------------Cech------------ Bellerin--mert--Kosc--Monreal ------Coquelin--Cazorla------ Campbell---Ozil-----Sanchez --------------Giroud-------------- Subs: Macey, Gabriel, Gibbs, Debuchy, Flamini, Beilik, Iwobi If I'm right all our other first team squad is out injured except Chambers who may also make the bench. So we are pretty thin at the moment. Unless I'm mistaken we don't have enough players fit to name a senior 18 man match day squad, regardless of the positions if the players. That first team is still strong enough to give most teams a good game but we don't exactly have options off the bench and anymore injuries and things start looking worrying. Hopefully oxocube and Walcott aren't out for any longer than a few days. What are the return dates on the others? I know we are expecting Welbeck and wilshere in January last I heard. Not sure on others? Isn't Ramsey only out for a few weeks?
If no injured players come back, we will basically have to play 99% of the same team against Swansea away, Munich away, and Spurs home, that doesn't look good at all. Lack of transfer activity biting us in the ass big time at the moment. Ramsey is out until after the international break according to Wenger.
Fantastic, this basically means we don't have a single attacking player in reserve at the moment, let that sink in for a second. It's so ****ing incompetent for this to happen, from lack of signings, to a continued clear medical-training problem. This is why it's so frustrating being an Arsenal fan, we at many times our own worst enemy.
Would not be surprised to see all our good work go undone over the next week because of these injuries, I can't see us going unscathed in these next 3 big games, if it was against Sunderland, Zagreb, and Villa, I could see us managing it, it's tough enough to play Swansea away, then the same players have to go face that giant that is Munich which is going to require so much effort, and thennnnnn it's the north london derby against Spurs.
Your so right. Could not be much bigger games. With so few quality players available its hard to see results. Just have to take it on the chin. Trouble is we have been in this situation before but never seem to plan for it. I know it's bad luck but we do seem to be more prone to collecting injuries so there must be something wrong with our treatment/preparation method. Anyone any ideas? Frustrating as we could see a decent position wasted.
We cant recall Gnabry? Pulis doesnt think much of him anyway. Knock on wood but so far Ozil, Sanchez, Carzola and Giroud doesnt get injured that often (if any of those it is more likely Giroud and then we are f****d).
ITKs saying Gibbs will be LW until Theo and Ox are back. he has played there in his sub cameos and he was originally a winger so it could work. One thing that has been lacking from him this season IMO is his attacking play so maybe being up the field will give him the impetus to attack more and get in more dangerous positions as he has for us in the past (and of course improve his final ball because at times it can be dreadful)
I don't really have much trust in him they way he's played when he's been given chances. But who knows
Wenger confirms OXO and Walcott out until after the internationals: http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20151029/team-news-walcott-ramsey-and-the-ox What an absolute complete **** up.
Maybe a pressure-free (relatively) run in the squad is what he needs to find some form. Obviously the problem with starting him is we have no real attacking subs. He obviously is a bit disillusioned but needs to take a long look at Coquelin and realise what an opportunity he has for the next few weeks. Personally I still don't think that right side position is nailed down even when everyone is fit so why not make a real go for it?
