    I wond
What if Origi is just not a striker? He played wide right mostly at Lille.

I actually thought that when he went wide running with the ball on the break and cut off Clynes space.

Totally agree. He should be used out wide as a workhorse.

Yes. 23 years old, should be performing week in week out. Not good enough, shift him out. No time for people taking up valuable places that will never quite make it.

Harsh I know, but the game is cut throat. At 23 you need to be playing week in week out. Or at a minimum be on the bench to come and make an impact. Not going to happen unfortunately, get rid asap.

Think this performance shows we need some changes to our normal starting 11. Particularly impressed with Firmino, Ibe and Tex and a shout out to Bogdan who didn't put a foot (hand) wrong

Second half was very encouraging, our pressing was excellent and we won the ball back in some incredibly dangerous areas. Smart pressing, not running around like headless chickens, was very much aided by Lucas who looks much more physically fit now he has a run of games under his belt.

We still look nervous on the ball, perhaps to be expected seeing as most of our players tonight were fringe/youth. But that will take time.

    Few things though..

Origi is not a striker, he looks very much like a winger stuck up front.

Clyne was superb, complete performance. Try him at LB more often? When Flanagan comes back <whistle>

Bogdan was excellent, and Tex grew in to it, as did Ibe.

Not in the slightest. 4 games now, of which 3 were at home against a 2nd string Bournemouth side, Rubin Kazan with 10 men and Southampton. Its not that he hasn't scored, its that he doesnt even look like scoring. I would love to know his stats, as they must be woeful, Lucas has probably had more shots on target.

fair enough, just wondered. thought the youngsters played well and Clyne was outstanding in both defence and attack.

Ibe should have been motm rather than Firmino to be fair.

Shout out to Bogdan, wasn't massively tested but handling was very good, kicking was fine as well. Looked solid enough as a back up today <ok>

It was job done, not great, not bad. Good job. Nothing special.

Considering the team, I'm pleased with a clean sheet and a win <ok>

I meant in terms of putting him out wide not as a striker.

But he didn't look out of place today so why wouldn't you play him.

He looked more dangerous going forward than Coutinho and Lallana have this season. He hasn't been given a fair chance in my opinion and should be far more involved. If he plays 15 games this season and makes no impact then shift him on, but to move him on without giving him fair chance would be silly.
