I don't know about punishing the ref. Look he ****ed up and dropped a bollock. **** happens. At least they have acknowledged that it was not a sending off. Which given their history of showing any common sense about these things, shows it was undoubtedly a clanger <laugh>

Colo was having a good game up until that point so good news

I see we have been charged with 'failing to control our players' as well.

Fair enough. Ok we were quite right to get upset as the ref ****ed up, but the rules are the rules. We did surround him.

Just with someone had impaled him because that's losing control.

The only reason Newcastle were beaten was because Colo was sent off , hence if he stays on the field this week

Sunderland needed help to beat us. They got it and it has been acknowledged as an obvious mistake. Time to move on.

This thread is about the Stoke game lads, lets keep on point. There are plenty of threads to get the derby out of the system on.

I've had mental images all morning of the ref being tore apart by a pack of Hyenas. I feel no shame in telling you I had a boner thinking about his agonising screams.

I'd like to stick him on the set of the Walking Dead personally, or rather, stick him in Stanley Town Centre on a Saturday night. That's like a real life version.

I'd take a scrappy 1-0 but don't think we have the defense to hold out for 90 mins. If we can perform like the first 45 mins vs the mackems and stick a few of the chances away we will win by the odd goal.

    Out of curiosity, Saturdays Referee:
Roger East - second visit to Gallowgate this season for the man from Wiltshire, following the 1-2 defeat by Watford.

East has only refereed 4 premier league games so far this season 1 of those was us versus Watford
East allowed all the rough tactics from Watford that day, although some might say we were "out muscled (be prepared for more of the same from Stoke)
a far cry from our previous home game versus Arsenal
where we were heavily critisied by Wenger for some rough tactics, with Andre Marriner dishing
out 6 yellows and 1 red

so maybe we should set our stall out and have tactics for the ref, as well as the opposition

my own notes from the Watford game was that East allowed the Watford keeper an eternity to release the ball
this has to be my number 1 pet hate because it's the only Law that is not an opinion
on two occasions 12 seconds was timed and on another as much as 14 seconds was allowed
despite the 6 second Law still being in place, and punishable with an indirect free kick

any shoulder barges against us and I'll be screaming for a free kick or penalty <laugh>

We have enough trouble getting our tactics right for the opposition - if we have to start spending time on the referee as well we are going to be in big trouble. Remember these are footballers - generally not blessed with brains that can absorb large amounts of information. We know from experience that Sissoko forgets a simple instruction (track back with their midfielder) as soon as he gets on the pitch and Haidara seems to forget everything he was taught since the age of 5 about controlling the ball - lets not confuse them further.
This is a really important game now - a win and I think we can start getting out of the mess we are in, a loss and I think we are going to struggle for the rest of the season. Hopefully they take the positives from last week and put on an attacking display like they did against Norwich.
