You should really check out the mobile van, OLM. He visits North Cave village hall every thursday from 4:30-6:30. Then you can come back on and tell me he's crap. <laugh>

We had booked. Not sure about the couple in front of us. It was a Wednesday evening.

    Smart.

I never understood the people who would turn up on Mother's Day and be outraged there were no tables left. If you can't be arsed to book in advance on a day that is for appreciation of your mother you don't deserve a table. Lazy.

I'm lazy. I'll make sure I take my wife out for dinner a few days either side of valentine's day and claim I'm not into any capitalist-enforced holiday (our love is 365 days a year - you should have seen her face when I suggested having Christmas presents in January!).

You could have got away with that aswell, traditionally the celebration of Christmas lasts until the 31st of January.

The pods don't work as people just go up and complain and get seated straight away and as for none of the food being packaged, sorry, but the sharing platter is a medley of Booker Foods finest.

Don't get me wrong, for the price it was ok, but not great and definately out of a packet.

Best tasting chippy ive had was Rick Steins, it was nice, but too ****ing dear at £9 take out you get a tiny fish about the size of an average chicken breast and about 10 chips.

I've only recently grown a liking for fish I used to hate it so my visits to decent chippys are few and far between.

That was only for the platter. Fish and chips, pies, burgers and everything else were on plates. The better half says there is nothing unhygienic about the wooden platters. She spent years working in kitchens so I will take that as good enough and allow her to be right in this instance (a rare occurrence).

No, I assume they'll get it from a different supplier, it's a chain so they'll have loads of them. The only things I know of that aren't fresh are the custard and a couple of the puddings, everything else they get from a proper supplier.
