What a great policy for those fans who can't afford a season ticket or to waste £25 on the opportunity to get the chance to buy tickets.

I've bought a membership for the last 3 years now as for the cost, it gives you a great chance of getting to most away games. Living in the Midlands I usually go to Villa, Wolves, WBA, Stoke, one in the NW and a London game each season and never had a problem getting tickets during the member period. For the cost it's pretty good value.

Ahh cheers. Not fussed about cost, membership is only 6 less pints over the course of a year!

Judging by the pile of notes in three cardboard boxes at the ticket office 10 minutes before kickoff they sold at least 25% of ours on the door to unnamed customers, including myself.

I personally don't think it'll help much in picking out people on CCTV (how many away games have you been to where people just stand anywhere?), but becoming an actual named member and paying a fee for the privilege will put off people like those hanging around the front last Friday. Seems harsh on the law abiding, and those who would only go to one away game a year anyway, but considering I'm still marginally gutted I'm paying a membership as a season ticket holder now for very little reward (small percentage off match tickets which I don't buy anyway, and a pin badge which I've yet to see...) I'm not as sympathetic as I otherwise would be.

Unfortunately it is a bit of punishment for what those bellends did last week, and in fairness it was coming. Dicks.

I never stand in the right place at a match, but I don't think that matters anyway. It will be a case of if you get arrested, they take the ticket off you and track it back. But how many of these yobs just throw their ticket away once they get in the ground?

I think if you get arrested they'll tend to get your details anyway, wouldn't have thought ticket tracing would be necessary.

Dynamo, you did nothing wrong. Yes you were on the pitch, but so were 300 others. They won't ban 300 people, thats too much money to MA. They will get those who were fighting.

I'd just like to say again how deeply ashamed of myself I am and how much I regret what I've done *looks for flights to Mexico*

I bloody hope everyone who went on the pitch doesn't get banned. My mate went on, he is meant to drive to Villa!

Dynamo - you were on the pitch for the length of the time that it was funny - if everyone else got off as soon as you did then it would still be funny. It was the idiots who stayed and had fights and hassled the players that should be ashamed!

In my defence, if everyone came off around the same time as I did we wouldn't even be talking about bans.
Hence why I find it hypocritical of people who say ban everyone who was on the pitch, it's easy to look back in hindsight and shun it but when you're actually in the moment you don't know whether fights are gonna kick off, players hassled etc but I still regret what I did even if there was no hassle.

What pisses me off is people who were at the game and complained about people going on the pitch. 6000 of us were singing 'If Sammy scores...', a few acted in a hilarious way to it. People should stop being so PC about the whole thing, it was just a ****ing laugh.

We've done this to death so let it drop, in most professional clubs the rules are if you go on the pitch its a ban so there's nothing hypocritical about it. You won't be banned because there were so many, just don't consider a solo invasion at SJP anytime soon...

No need to keep defending yourself.
