Strewth are we ever going to hear the truth ....Also why on earth would a man of 79 try to hang on to power. Unless there is pressure being brought on him by third parties. Unless If he gives up now he can't see through that which he has already been bribed for perhaps. Very suspicious if you ask me do they really think people are so naive?

Tbh, it looks like the classic brown envelope. It's the sort of payment a customer might ask of a next door tradesman before he gets off to proper work. The cash payment the taxman need not know about.! Makes me wonder how Blatter thought such a high profile company would be able to disguise it.

Ex-Germany coach Franz Beckenbauer says he made a "mistake" in the bidding process to host the 2006 World Cup.

What a boys club FIFA is / was. How will they find someone clean to take over? I like Gary Lineker's sense of humour. I vote for him.

And his intelligence too. I'd vote for him too, but sadly, that same smartness will mean that he'd give the place a wide berth. :)

And the 2022 games was supposed to go to America but Platini changed his vote and his son got a job in Quatar. All the countries who wasted their money on attempts to get the WC should sue.

The nominees are in for new FIFA leader. Looking at the profiles I don't think we can expect much change to happen.

He's realised the jail term he's looking at and is deciding to drag everyone else down with him...

Not a single candidate from the Home nations. Have they got too much sense.? Or more likely, any candidacy must be backed by 5 valid football association nominations, and I can't see any candidate from England, N.Ireland, Scotland, Wales or Ireland receiving any backing other than from each other. And then they'd be shown to be working together, which wouldn't work in the present climate.

Blatter and Platini disgust me. They are complete ****s and should never be allowed near the football world ever again.

So who's voting? the same corrupt heads / vice heads of the world's confederations that ****ed it up in the first place? We need a completely unbiased scandal free organisation to run the election - Roman Catholic Church?

Don't get it...Blatter claims it was all a fix and then says the FA were bad losers!! You can't be a bad loser when you've been cheated. The FA's attitude has been vindicated...they said that England wouldn't bother to put in an application whilst Blatter was in charge as it was a waste of money.

Blatter also still believes that he's the best person to lead FIFA. If I was his family I'd be seriously worried about his delusional fantasies.

Think countries who spent money on getting the WC should seek recompense. The FA alone spent about 20 million on it.

Totally agree with you Fran. Every body concerned should be locked up and the key thrown away.
