Signed. You may laugh but does anyone know Jim Davidson or Dave Berry? Both huge Charlton fans and have 175k and 150k followers respectively on Twitter. If we could get either or both tweeting this....
Jim blocked me because I called him out over a comment he made about one of our players, out of ear shot of fellow fans. I guess he didn't want people to know!
Shared on Twitter and since then had 3 emails from Chang saying i got 3 people to sign it and its been shared by 2 others So all good
Brilliant stuff. To those on CL that have lambasted it, have a re-read. The petition isn't claiming RD is up to dodgy tricks, but wether the fit and proper test is.... well, fit and proper itself. It's no secret it's flawed, Cellino being the best example of that point, and a question that's being asked is how/why RD et all are being allowed to run the club down.
It's still live for me - 10 off the initial planned 500. Testament to Kish to get it off the ground, to everyone who helped spread the word.
Signed. I tried the Wordpress one which didn't work. Use the change.org link a few posts down from the OP.
Its up to 771 signatories. I can download the names and comments of everyone who's signed it; 80% of the comments are heartbreaking to be honest! Genuine and rationale concern that at this rate the Club will not survive. Many have made the point of emphasising that generations of support is being dismantled, and quite a few have mentioned that, whilst they supported the Club through the tough period of the late 80s/early 90s, they now felt they cannot continue - all directly related to the current mismanagement. As I've said to some on here my aim with this is to write to local MPs, including Clive Efford in his role as Shadow Sports Minister, to elevate these valid concerns. The comments signatories have made will surely help exemplify the worry and distress caused. I'm hoping we'll be over a thousand by the time I finish the letter and supporting information this weekend; a thousand supporters will in my opinion be quite a good representation of match going Charlton fans. There are (despite what over forums may think!) clear aims from this which I think have been apparent since the outset; to force the governing bodies of English Football (the FA and the Football Leage) to actively acknowledge and investigate the issue specific to Charlton (in particular the flawed Network model), and to review the fit and proper person test so as to consider the effects owners have on all aspects of a Club, not just financial as they currently do. The current test allows for owners to do why they like so long as they are sound financially; you can change a clubs name, change their colours, shatter their identity Without justification (and in extreme cases move them 100 odd miles away...). At a time when supporters outside of the Premier League are so alienated from their Clubs this is entirely unsustainable. Thanks for all of your help. I'll keep you posted.
