I agree it was a terrible performance and that team shouldn't have been out played. Besides 3 players it wasn't our 1st team, but it should have been a lot better performance

Shocker from us.. like other's have said, the result does not bother me, the injuries do!

On the bright side Chelski just lost on penalties 5-4 to Stoke..via a superb Butland save to deny Hazard. ;)

I suppose we can't win 5 trophies this season anymore. After winning the first of the season (the Mighty Community Shield) and losing in the League Cup, we can only achieve a maximum of a quadruple!

The Champions league might be a little beyond us, but who knows we might be tearing it up in the europa league at some point. Joint on points with City at the top of the league suggests there's still plenty of time to dream about the league.

But winning another FA Cup would be pretty impressive! It'd make us only the second team ever and the first since I think the 1800s to have won three consecutive FA Cups and cement our place even further as the most successful team in the competition ;)

Why are you saying it like it's a bad thing? I'd be delighted if we won the FA Cup for 3 consecutive years in a row, it'd be an outstanding achievement.

Not to mention, it's a lot more significant than the League Cup.

**** the league cup, just a massive shame that we lost Walcott and the Ox, Walxott in particular. With Swansea, Bayern and Spurs coming up, this particular injury crisis really has hit us at the worst possible time. Not to mention the fact that Ramsey is also already out. ****.

Barclays Asia Trophy, Emirates Cup, Prem, CL and FA Cup. Sextuplet going to be so good.
On a more serious not League and FA Cup Double is very plausible and with CoC distraction out of the way let's hope Oxo truly is precautionary and he'll be fine for the weekend and Theo fine soon as well.

Our squad is so bare thin at the moment.

It was bare thin when the season started... Simply because AW should know by now we have one the worst medical teams in professional football which results in a plethora of injuries every single season and that we need more good players than other top teams.

Apart from the shameful performance, i'm more worried about Walcott's injury. We really need both Giroud and Walcott fit for the majority of the season to challenge for the title. So far rotating both have worked well and breaking that up will be detrimental to us fielding a varied attack.

I heard somewhere that they are giving both a scan and waiting 48 hours for the scan/results

Definitely. Any sort of lay off for Theo will destroy the form he's built up and mean he'll need to be eased back into the side until he can start scoring again. We can't afford that.

Totally agree. The problem is neither are good enough to carry our CF attack themselves, but having them come on different occasions, has made us a more dangerous outfit.

    Horses for courses.

I didn't watch your game, but was rather puzzled by Wenger's comments to the media in the aftermath:
"I have to manage the workload of the players and at the end of the day I still think I maybe brought too many experienced players here."
Yep, that's fine. Makes sense. Needed to rotate more.

He then went on to say that the youth players that he did bring weren't ready to play at this level and that it was too high for them.
Surely adding more of them would've made things even worse?

I think that he's effectively admitting that he made a mistake in the transfer window and should've strengthened the squad.
Most of you were calling for that anyway, so it's hardly a surprise.
Do the likes of Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky offer enough to justify their places and their wages?
I'd have thought that you'd have benefited more from bringing in a group of talented prospects for decent money.

Arteta and Rosicky are both injured, so aren't offering anything at the moment, although when fit they are both decent squad players; although Arteta is slow and doesn't really play at the pace our team needs. Rosicky however even at nearly 35 still has a great engine and is a really good addition to our midfield.

Flamini still does just about enough to justify his place in the squad, and as you will know he pops up with a couple of screaming goals now and then ;)

As for last night, it was an abomination. Both from the youth players and the senior players. No excuses, the players just weren't at the level they should have been. Credit to Sheff Weds, but any player pulling on an Arsenal shirt, whatever level they are at should be ashamed of last night's performance.

I'm hoping that it should act as a kick up the arse before a tough away game at Swansea on saturday.
