He was some sort of Wizard/Sorcerer, he took the fitness from others with him, it's why he's never injured! I heard this from Harry Redknapps cousin, who also happens to be a distant relative for Dave Wheelan. #itk

It is a fact that the fitness levels were better, this was due to everyone trying to keep up with him.

How did he keep Daniel fit for a sustained period of time? it's one of life's mysteries.

He just offered to do all the work for him <whistle> That made Sturridge very happy

  8. Studge wanted to play and ignored the little niggles that currently keep him out for six weeks at a time

You go to the stadium don't you? So you would have a better understanding of Sturridges work rate then myself. On TV it looks like he is working, but at the game you get a different perspective.

Really? On tv looks like he's lazy and his 'pressing' and work rate we're masked by Suarez doing a lot of hard work.

I never came away feeling he didn't work very hard, I also never came away feeling he put an absolutely shift in.

He wasn't being paid £120k per week back then, he still had aspirations.

He's now got a contract that'll see him financially secure for the rest of his life - £31m over 5 years.

He feels a niggle he doesn't play.

To be fair he's not the laziest I've ever seen (Diouf wins that one hands down) but a Rush/Suarez he certainly isn't. He's a "shrugger". Defending from the front is definitely not something he has learned (or ever been asked to do).

Maybe Klopp can get him playing a pressing game but can his body stand up to it? If he can perform the miracle and keep him fit then Sturridge's attributes in an attacking sense will be perfect for us but I sense JK won't let him stroll around when we haven't got the ball as he's done before.

How long do we as a club persist with Studge, 5-10 games a season if were lucky at the moment. What point do we say '**** it', sell him and buy someone who is just as good but can play a whole season?

This is the problem isn't it?
Klopp needs players who are fit and athletic, if he tries to get Sturridge to play the way he wants him to he'll just keep breaking him.
Danny couldn't even stay fit under BR's less demanding regime, I can't see much hope for him now.
I won't be surprised if Klopp dumps him for a fitter model as soon as he can. Shame, because he has so much potential.

Sturridge isn't a hard worker so it's going to be how Klopp develops him. I fear that if he is asked to press, he will be vulnerable to injuries.

What we can't afford to do is rely on him. Even after spending big in the summer, we still find ourselves in the same predicament. Such wasteful spending over the years.

I think he'll have until the end of this season to prove his fitness and if nothing improves we'll be looking to replace him.

Problem comes with selling him, who would buy him and how much for.. And would he pass a medical?

I still would be really reluctant to sell him simply because he's a very good footballer. His mins per goal ratio is bettered by only Aguero I believe.
