Well we've got nowt from this game apart from seeing that there is precious little depth in our squad & more injuries to our fragile players.
Great night. Can't wait for AW's explanation.
Respect to Wednesday though. Can only play what's in front of them.

Mrs RCL is an owl so we are watching it...honestly did not realise Giroud was still on the pitch

He has been truly bad tonight...And not soldado bad cos at least you knew he was on the pitch cos he would miss an open goal ... or two.

And to think that when I was 6 I used to like Wednesday because they had an owl on their shirt and Chris Woods in goal and Waddle in the team, and this is how they repay me...

We need to bring back Crowley, then we won't need to rely on these players when our injury crisis really bites...

Oh well. At least we won't have to suffer any extra time before the Swansea game ...

Hope Walcotts injury isn't bad. He's a big player for us.

In fact I'm more bothered about Chamberlain's and Walcott's injury than the result.

If this performance was reversed and we had done this to Wednesday then it would even be embarrassing for Wednesday how little the goal was threatened or how little control of the ball there was. But considering we are supposedly one of the top sides in the country then it is a shocking performance, regardless of how well Wednesday have played.

Not that it made any difference but how was there only 4 minutes added tme in the first half and only 3 in the second? It took more than 3 minutes for Hutchinson to get off the pitch!

I was glad chambers left a foot in on him though after his ridiculous challenge in the first half.

If he'd seen red it might have been a different game, and our early injuries to the players I expect we were relying on to get us the goals didn't help. But overall an average performance from a very young team, with a handful of debuts for youth players.

Beilik I thought was a positive. When he came on he was looking to get the ball forward, played some good passes, seemed confident on the ball and always asking for it, he was strong in fighting for the ball. How old is he? Isn't he still only 17/18? It's a shame we are out of the league cup as I'd like to see more of him during the season.

Also thought Beilik was good -looked very confident on the ball. Something positive at least!

    Young team?
Cech, Debuchy, Chambers, Mertesacker, Flamini, Gibbs, Chamberlain, Giroud and Campbell? That's 9 of your starters.
I think that they have all played Champions League matches and and only Campbell is not or ain't been a first team regular.

Personally I thought it was not an average performance. .. it was awful...hardly a chance created and second best all over the pitch.

Final thing...losing 2 players to muscle pulls within minutes of the game starting suggests a poor warm up...maybe the team failed to take this match seriously?

I hope Wenger kicks some arses after such a disappointing and unprofessional performance.

Campbell, chambers, iwobi, kamara, benaccer are all young and basically played the whole game and Beilik came on with half an hour to go to add another youth to the mix. Oxocube is also only young. That's 7 players involved aged 23 or under. Only one of which (oxocube) plays regularly for us and he went off in 3 minutes. Take out Campbell and the rest are 20 or under, beilik is only 17.

So plenty of youth in there. Mixed with a handful of older players, I'll give you that. But only Giroud, Cech and Mert are players you'd expect to see starting with everyone available and even then Walcott gets the nod more often than Giroud at the moment.

Debuchy, Gibbs, oxo and flamini have been squad players for us this season. Campbell and chambers have been on the edges of the squad with us not expecting them to ever play unless it's in the cup competitions.

So I'm not going to be too deflated by the performance. We had no creative players out there or players to turn the game when oxo and Walcott got injured. With the midfield we had out there by 15 minutes in, it was always going to be difficult to win the midfield battle. Iwobi is young and came inside too often rather than adding width which didn't help and debuchy seemed concerned to go beyond him. And with no oxo and Walcott we didn't have many options to add pace and width to try going down the wings more. With us seemingly not wanting to go long to giroud this meant we didn't have many ideas and kept passing it around.

I'm more concerned with the injuries than the result. I'm hoping it's not too serious and they (in particular Walcott) are available soon.

Not too fussed about the result but the performances from some of the senior players was shameful. Says it all when a youngster who played for about 25 minutes looked our best performer.

I don't think it will have any baring on the rest of the season but a starting line up which includes these 9 ...
Cech, Debuchy, Chambers, Mertesacker, Flamini, Gibbs, Chamberlain, Giroud and Campbell (all of who have played CL football) should not be losing 3 nil, should not fail to score and should not be completely out played.

Like I said, I doubt it'll make any impact on your season but that was a terrible performance imo...but I will leave it there cos I ain't on the wind up and don't wanna over stay my welcome

But hey...chelsea just lost a penalty shootout so the specialist in failure has made the evening a little brighter for you lot <laugh>
