I dont post very often but feel compelled to after watching last nights local tv sports round up. Now I dont really watch local news (find it all a little trivial )but twice a season I do just to see if the sports presenters can report the match without actually bursting into tears!. What an hilarious offering last night ,first TYNE TYNE Tv was whinging how newcastle would have stuffed Sunderland if it wasnt for the referee applying the rules of the game blah blah blah but the best was on the BBC's Look North . That vastly knowledgable Dawn Thewlis was crying about the penalty, the ref,the sunshine, the wind and the bovril but saved her best one for reporting on Jones's goal. I think it was along the lines of ...." He's only ever scored two goals and both were against Newcastle and his on sunday was nothing special, in fact I could have scored that one in my high heel shoe's " at this point her fellow presenter said something like " choose your words carefully Dawn " . Heh Think someone should give Schteeve a nudge and get her signed on cos it sounds like she is all they need and if she had played on Sunday they would have trounced us :) You know I think I was becoming a little jaded with all these derby wins but listening to all the whinging and crying has invigorated me :) P.S They used to always have a funny little story at the end of the news I think they missed out on a cracker with the fibre glass horse in Westgate road getting good hiding. HILARIOUS

I never watch it mate for exactly the reasons given in your post (welcome btw and a good start) <ok>

I`m a bit surprised Dawn Thewlis was on there. Thought she`d have been in rehab. <laugh>

I really don't know why the people watch and read the flummery of the media these days. It is so easy to have a nice salary, conjure up what you can on the internet and justify your existence. I just hope that 'Raid' develop their sprays to kill these ****ers too, they are as bad as wasps in my eyes. Tell you what, the world would be a much better place as the lemmings wouldn't have the knee jerk and the kids might get dinner on time..<ok>

Post more mate, Comm's fast running out of ideas bless his cotton socks!

The more the merrier in here, don't worry about posting threads that don't get many responses either, a good few of us will soon chuck some more layers in there.

Welcome to the asylum, you're our property now, go find yourself a bunk, keep your nose clean and NEVER, start Borini threads <ok>

Btw,I forgot to ask you all. Can you remember the last time Shearer was on MOTD after a derby? Ive heard that he has a helicopter on standby at each derby waiting to be whisked away to the MOTD studios in time to be a "pundit" ,

must be costing a fortune on cancellation fee's :)

Don`t worry about starting new threads mate. The chances are within ten posts we`ll be discussing/arguing/fighting about something entirely different anyway. <laugh>

Do you reckon Snooker players class themselves as sportsmen?

Yeah darts players are super athletes though.

Supping 16 pints and still being able to hit trebles... I bet Bolt couldn't run sub 10 seconds after a case of John Smiths.

I seem to recall Sid Waddell referring to darts players as athletes.

Her replacement wins hands down for me.

Step up Rachel Riley. Different class.
