Praying the Jak doesn't play tonight; but can't see anything other than this happening.
Hoping for this team (just a guess).

    McGregor
    Robbo Daws Maguire Moses
    Clucas Huddz Jake Elmo
    Chubs Abel H.

    One can only hope...

Ahh - I didn't know that. Could we see Maloney upfront perhaps?

I hope that Bruce will start a fairly strong team in the hope of getting a lead (2-0?) at HT when the likes of Dawson, Elmo, and Akpom can be brought off for the last 20-30 minutes.

    I'd expect

    Jakupovic
    Odubajo Dawson Maguire Robertson
    Elmo Huddlestone Diame Maloney
    Luer Akpom

McGregor Taylor Hayden Meyler Livermore Clucas Hernandez

Not sure how that formation will play, but it's 442 and that line up off of sky
There's a 352 in there as well, and a few others!

Surprised to see Bruce as a sub. Thought he was injured and out for a while. Looks like Maloney up front with Luer.

Would be good if Luer got a couple tonight. We need as much competition and options up front as possible.

Just got home, what a ****ing game, absolutely fantastic City.

    My player ratings:

Jak - still looked dodgy, always does, but got better as the game went on, and a great save from Mahrez' penalty

Dave - looked full of energy, some great moments in both attack and defence, he's finally looking what we'd hope he'd be

Dawson - Captain fantastic, MOM for me

Maguire - he definitely took his chance, a dodgy moment at the start but other than that did everything that was asked of him.

Robertson - as with Dave he never stopped and looks like he's determined to hang on to his shirt now.

Taylor - don't understand what Lambo's whining about, he had a solid if unspectacular game for me.

Thudd - I've been one of his biggest detractors but tonight when Bruce FINALLY plays him further up the pitch he showed what he's capable of, he had a good game but for me it'd still be a central midfield of Meyler and Jake at Wimbledon.

Hayden - looked quality, got on with his job with the minimum of fuss, sat a deep so that Thudd could push on, you'd have to say that Bruce got this tactic spot on.

Diame - what the ****'s happened to him, he looked like Bambi on ice ffs. Nothing he tried came off, and every time the ball came to him it bounced off him, as for that effort at goal, seriously wtf. For me I'd have had him off at HT for Elmo, it nearly happened later but then we scored. Can't work out if he isn't interested or is simply out of form but he looks a million miles away from being the player that he was when he first signed for us.

Luer - in the main he appeared to be up top on his own, which is going to be hard for any player against a PL team, but in particular for a rookie just starting out. He appeared to miss one chance that looked easier to score, but overall I'd say that he gave his all and stuck to what must have been a very hard task.

Maloney - Neat and tidy as you'd expect, never stopped and must have been truly ****ed by the end, but what was that corner about, we only had one ****ing player in the area!

Abel and Chooba, came on and changed the game, both players looked quality, both worked hard,me specially Chuba who chased every lost cause, and yet again Abel was in the right place at the right time Roo.

A fantastic night, a great game, a great result, great value for money, can't wait for the draw.

There's something about Jakupovic and penalty shoot outs; he always seems so confident and calm. I don't think he put a single foot wrong tonight and Brucey sounded relieved/impressed in his post match. Be harsh if he lost his place in the next round.
