I'm already sick of reading about the heat http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/07/20/pardew-attacks-howey-s-claim-over-us-tour-72703-29087507/

These are professional athletes, and footballers play in real heat almost everywhere in the world, except perhaps the UK and Russia. MLS players play in that heat (and worse down in Texas/California) every season every summer. The journalists attacking NUFC and Pardew saying the players will all get heat exhaustion and miss the beginning of the season are just looking for another excuse to criticise the administration, if they can't handle playing in temperatures like that, they should probably give back their annual millions and stick to an air-conditioned office job.

It doesn't matter how much you get paid, running about in the Southern States during July can't possibly be fun. They're training through the day, MLS games (and our friendlies) are played at night so should be fine, or at least better than daytime training. Agree about the missing the start of the season nonsense though, they'll be fine, and have lovely T shirt suntans to boot.

I agree, not exactly fun, and I should know, those are the summers I played through every year growing up. But they have a professional training staff, the tour games are at night (though they do play MLS matinee matches on weekends), it really shouldn't be a problem

Colo kitted out in his y-fronts again for training.

Maybe his burning loins are causing the recent US heat wave?!
