Masky is off to see if there is an improvement on the garbage dished out last Tuesday, if I am not entertained tonight, I will refuse my neighbour's kind offer of her ticket again! I have to pleasure her as a return, she complains of a sub standard performance, but as I say to her..."you started it by giving me your ticket pal"! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Midfielder Joe Ralls may be fit enough to return for Cardiff City after he missed Tuesday's home win over Middlesbrough with a hamstring injury.

Kenwyne Jones (shin) is definitely out so Alex Revell will start up front.

Bristol City lost narrowly to leaders Brighton in their last outing.

Manager Steve Cotterill may elect to name the same starting line-up against Cardiff, although on-loan forward Simon Cox came off the bench for his debut and could be handed a first start.

Am I seeing double or has Masky pressed the same button twice? And I'm not talking about with his neighbour either.

I see the poor Wurzels want to boycott the game as an objection to being bubbled. Cheeky tw@ts shouldn't have tried to wreck the Prince of Wales last time they were brave enough to cross the bridge. I wonder how many we will see tonight? The Boro fans made a good show last week despite the horrendous distance to travel.

This game has proved what I have suspected all season. We are a very average side in a very poor division.
Marshall is the only player good enough for a promotion chasing team. The rest are all second rate.

With displays like this the club should be glad the crowds are as high as they are.

Watched it on the box guys. Well gotta say the Mrs who knows nothing at all about football, thought we were playing well and deserved to win however she thinks we still play in red? Desire , motivation, passion all missing unfortunately. Kodgja bullied our back four and they didnt have the backbone to handle him. Do we have a midfield? Serious clear-out needed, Marshall / Fabio to stay, get rid of the rest.

A point away from home to a top 10 side is always welcome, especially to a team in our position so I will take that all night. How the hell you guys didn't wrap it all up at the death though???...big miss there. We had enough chances to have grabbed all three throughout the match, and had it not been for Marshall (always rated him) and the woodwork it may well have been that way. Good display from the Robins tonight, with a few of my Cardiff City mates suggesting the Bluebirds have been riding their luck a fair bit all season?......good luck for the rest of the season guys.

Looked like we were the team in 20th and Brizzle were chasing the playoffs. Baring Marshy's outstanding save we lacked any quality. Read an article earlier this week on WOL suggesting we can't leave Gunner out in the cold much longer. Let him freeze - we know from last season he and Whitts don't work in the middle. Seriously need a goal scorer, as whilst Mason and Revell work hard they don't take chances. Not that the midfield were creating many. Ipswich next, where we've won once in the last decade <doh>

At least we're not conceding many <laugh>

We were complete and utter garbage. Slade has a few players missing through injury who would improve the team. However there is no excuse for leaving the fit again Joe Ralls on the bench who has been our best midfielder this season by a distance (and who for the brief period he was on tonight was our best player) Also Pilkington and Ameobi on the bench with Revell in the side?????????

Why the feck isnt Kennedy even on the bench?

Slade had been starting to win me over. But tonight was a complete and utter shambolic display. If he starts that midfield again he deserves the sack.

Hopefully Kenwynne will be back Saturday. Him to start , Ralls obviously comes back in , Pilkington back in , Ameobi to start. Get Kennedy back in the squad.

Our squad is top 10. That starting line up in that system would see us relegated.

Always thought this was going to be a banana skin match for us, so I'll take the point gleefully. Slade has done better than most fans thought time for Tan to dig deep when the window comes around.

My glass was well and truly emptied last night.

As hilts points out there are players to improve the situation available but if he plays the ****ing gunnar/whits axis of (very slow and ponderous) evil in the middle of the park again I'll be back in the Slade out camp in no time. Hopefully injuries and a strangely flat overall performance are to blame for such a terrible performance. That was back to the worst of last season. A HUGE step backwards, the fact he sat and watched us being out thought and out fought for the best part of 70 minutes was alarming to say the least.

They celebrated like they'd won, they should have been gutted as I doubt they'll play a side that'll be as there for the taking as we were last night. We should have lost by at least 3 or 4.
As Sparky often says - If we'd been playing a decent side we would have been hammered.

    Marshall was MOTM.
Unbelievably, so were the Ipswich, Preston and Brighton keepers when we played them - with Brighton actually WINNING the f-ing game.

And we are 20th and only just outside the drop zone, with Cardiff just outside the playoffs. Frustrating doesnt even begin to cover it.

I admit I felt relieved rather than disappointed immediately after the final whistle - I have seen us dominate games like this, with the opposition keepers playing out of their skins, only to concede in a freak breakaway in the last 10 minutes of the game. The longer it stayed 0-0 the more likely that was to happen - and it should have done - Ameobi's miss was OUR let-off.

One day the Keeper curse will be lifted and we'll hammer someone. Lets hope its not too late.

Poor doesn't come close. How the hell are we in 8th spot? That was the most lethargic, pedestrian, clueless performance of the season, and that's saying something given some of the stuff served up previously. It was truly terrible to watch.

Marshall can save a game but will never win one. He got us a point and that's all you can take from that. The outfield players were atrocious both individually and as a team. The midfield was so slow it was embarrassing. Gunnar and Dikgacoi charged about like pub players and Noone has lost the plot big time. Whitts tried to hold it together by passing backwards and sideways and the whole thing ground to a halt.

Up front (do we have one?) what Revell contributes I have no idea at all. Mason looks lost without the service but at least he tries to get on the end of things. The back line were better but patchy with only Connolly (my outfield MOM) and Fabio coming away with any credit.

We were there for the taking and made Bristol look like promotion contenders. As tenaceous as they were, the sad fact is that the standard of football on played last night will confine both sides to a struggle this season.

OMG, I did not think it could get worse but that last night was just abysmal. Clueless once the ball got near the half way line. Bristol had purpose and a plan with 2 wing backs, but City didn't have a clue . The only player who can pass the ball forward on the deck towards the opposition is Connelly. What has happened to Whitt'm after a decent game v Boro?

Our attack was hopeless yet Mason had a free header and Ameobi had an open goal but both missed. Even Pilk'tn right at the death had a great chance but fluffed it. That would have been nice but harsh on Bristol from an objective view.

Bristol C deserved all 3 points.

    My ratings -
    Marshall - 10
    Fabio - 6, Connelly - 7, Morrison - 6, Peltier - 6.
    Noone - 4, Whitt'm - 3, Gunn'son - 4, Dikajcoi - 2
    Revell - 1 Mason - 2

3 clean sheets granted but only one City goal in the same 3 games and that was an OG. Appreciate Slade has injuries but I reckon he could do a better job on the field that our front 2, especially Revell who should never play in the first team again.

A reality is that City play Reading, Derby and Burnley next and they all should have no difficulty picking off City unless Slade/Trollop can get the best out of a very mediocre outfield squad, especially in central midfield and up top.

When did you last see the home team without one shot on goal,if things don't change they will stay the same and we will be in a dog fight to stay in this division. So I think it is time for a change in management.before we get to that situation. And as for Tan where is he and his cheque book he needs to start spending some of his fortune or it could be division one next season.

I agree with your total slating of the font 6 Nin but I wouldn't have been able to give Gunnar a score out of 10. He's a liability. Worse than useless in possession.

We knew Revel wasn't good enough, we desperately need KWJ and maybe someone else..... <laugh> back. The loan market could provide a much better player than Mason up front too. He's a midtable Championship striker at best (which does match us at the moment pretty well I suppose).

I don't know if Dika was fit from the start but at least he's not afraid of the ball. He shows for it and because of his physical presence he's not afraid to take the ball under pressure. Without him we completely failed to move the ball into or through the middle. Whits and Gunnar both just drop their heads and disappear. It makes us very easy to defend against with the complete lack of any threat or even a passing option though the middle. I will add we were awful with Dika in the middle yesterday, just saying that's the important job he has been doing for us.

I see Slade has written this off as a bad night with no need to over react. I'll be more than happy to do that but the next few fixtures will expose that type of performance with much harsher consequences than a toothless Bristol City managed.
