There's never been a better defender to play the game. Played with both feet, across the back line, an incredible athlete, a complete footballer and he played at the top level at his hometown club for 25 years. Captaining them to more success than most footballers can begin to imagine.

It bothers me that he seems to have been forgotten about.

We used to see him up our way occasionally when he was at a local health spa.
He was always the gentleman, always had time for joe public with a photo or an autograph.

I know mate, it's like you're only allowed to talk about Beckenbauer when mentioning classic defenders.

Maldini is definitely one of the greats. His old boy wasn't half bad either and apparently the third generation are looking **** hot as well!

I keep watching out for young Christian coming through mate. Just slowly but surely rising through the youth ranks I believe but think it's getting to the point where he needs to be breaking into the first team squad.

Fingers crossed he's anything like his old man.

I mean by the media really mate. He never gets a mention.

He should be for sure, Milan have never been in a worse state in my lifetime that I recall, if he's got anything about him he needs to be the focal point of building a new team around. They've completely lost their identity.

    Yep! <ok>

Just by chance yesterday, caught the last 5 minutes of Antiques Roadshow. They had 2 of his racing leathers!
The owner got a hell of a surprise, 1worth about 8 grand and the other (his world championship leathers) over 30 grand!!

The lass he was always pictured with was drop dead gorgeous!!

It's a sign of the times for the league unfortunately. They'll never be anything less than a second rate league now as the money just isn't there anymore. It's a damn shame when you look at clubs like Sampdoria, Inter, Juve, Roma, Fiorentina, Lazio, Parma, Napoli and Milan. The players/teams they've had over the years have been ridiculous.

I guess you could say the same about Celtic/Rangers in Scotland but I have a real soft spot for the Italian teams.

Milan through the 80's/90's/early 2000's were special. Probably my second team to be honest.
