My lad went to the Oktoberfest this year. He lives in Holland and he took us to this place http://bierfabriek.com/ Marvellous
Wifes making a curry. I have 4 bottles of Spitfire. Trying not to think too much about what can go wrong or slow in selling our house and buying the one we want. Wife not impressed with me saying it's been a brill day cos we won. Women eh?
I went to Minerva Gin Festival. 70 different gins (and two beers, otherwise I would have banned from this thread) Dead Bod Ale was on and is always good The gins were amazing. I've only just got into gin and didn't realise the range of flavours Obvious juniper and herbs etc, but some really interesting grapefruit, coconut, ginger etc in some of them. Definitely different
Bugger. Didnt know it was on. When i was on holiday earlier this year they had a Gin trolley with a few different flavours but the prices were extortionate. Do we have a problem in Hull advertising events? A lad in pub last night was saying Morrissey was on at Ice Arena recently, never saw a dickie bird.
They didn't need to advertise Morrissey, he only played London and Hull and they sold them out immediately.
I knew Morrisey I knew Morrisey was playing, but I didn't know he was playing with Dickie Bird?! That would have been worth seeing You missed out on the Gin Festival though. I didn't see much advertising, other than the flyer I got at my Alcoholics Anonymous meeting ( ok...Mrs Tash spotted it on the book of faces) Good value at £5 entry which gave you a nice free glass, then effectively the G&Ts were £4 each but with a great range of stuff I'd never heard of, some fantastic ones I'll be going back to Nice food there too from Shoot the Bull (I think)
Guess what the pumpkin beer tasted of pumpkin. Odd very odd. I know it sort of gave it away with the name, but it was still unexpected.
I don't like it I tastes like pumpkin ( as you say ) and I don't want my beer to taste of pumpkin It's a NO from me
Dennis stated, quite proudly, he tastes like pumpkin. I've spent the last few mins if that makes you a gaylord or not. Not you. Anyone who can do that to themselves.
Yep...I'm proud But just not satisfied taste wise I'll live with it though Right...off for some more stretching
Popped to Fruit tonight had some Founders All Day IPA. Very nice American session beer (4.7%) Also they have Flying Dog IPA on draft which is very good (although £4.50 a pint)
**** that. I'd rather have a tin of skol than pay that. It's good that there's been this resurgence and new found appreciation of beer in recent years. I'm down with it. But there's a whiff of pretention amongst it all. Tell you what though. I bet there's an element of the old school CAMRA lot that ****ing hate all the Johnny come lately plastics jumping on the bandwagon.
The offy that I use is full of skinny students. I expect that you are right though. Last week I was in West Cowes and a woman walked past carrying a clip board and wearing a Hi Vis vest with CAMRA on it. These people take getting pissed far to seriously.
