I sensed a bit of troll in his tone there <laugh>
Eh? I'm not bitter mate, I just think the ref wasn't up to it. Inexperienced ref, gave into the crowd. Don't think his leniency of Cattermole affected the result. We didn't deserve to lose but if we turned our dominance into goals in the first half we wouldn't have, so no one to blame but ourselves.

Tiote picks up a yellow card every time he steps on a pitch mate, the ref can't put the ball in the net for you, it's not inevitable that you'd have won or avoided defeat if you hadn't conceded a penalty and/or went down to ten men.

Playing well and not getting the result you think your performance merits sucks arse, it happens to us quite often, although most of the time it's the other way round <laugh>

So if you get an unfair red card and penalty against you in the next derby, you won't complain because you'll look back to this one and just say it evens out? Don't buy that.

I don't think Fletcher cheated btw, but the way he threw himself would probably have got him a bronze medal at the olympics. Coloccini was an idiot and gave an inexperienced ref a decision to make, which he couldn't handle IMO.

Garbage, first foul!!! Tiote should have been booked for a horrible foul, about 2 mins before the one when he was booked. Colocini was unlucky to be sent off but Newcastle should have been down to 10 men after 15 minutes!

Tiote's become a liability unfortuantely, he was utterly sensational in his first season and a half. We may well have lost anyway but we really had little hope after the red.

Anyways, I don't think it was a good performance from us as people never seem to accept that finishing is as much a part of the game as passing, controlling, creating, defending etc. For all our "brilliant play" we scored 0 goals so I'd rather McClaren shut his whinging shrew face and focused on why we weren't 3-0 up before half time.

That's it, from what I gather you pummelled them and never let them have the ball for the first 40 minutes... you should have stuck 2 or 3 past them and none of this would have happened!

I reckon the psychological side of it is just too much for your squad to handle, you're only in deeper now... 6 on the bounce, nobody on here will like to hear this but with Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan in your side, they'd never have even got to 3... your squad has no guts.

I didn't say it was an unfair penalty and neither did Alan Shearer.

What I'm saying is that the Newcastle supporters are going way OTT with some of the comments about the incident.

Especially as they've applauded cheats like Stephen Taylor in the past.

Agreed entirely. I've said for a long, long time we're missing Barton and Nolan more than we realise. Seems a lot of people don't take that side of football into account, sure they weren't the most talented but they lifted us, lifted everyone. They were the 2 players at the heart of the greatest ever comeback in the premier league. I'd have Barton back even now, but I'm in a really small minority. The FIFA16 generation of fans think you should just build a team entirely based on talent on the ball and disregard everything else.

    Keep trying.
Don't care about Alan Shearer, he's clueless as a pundit. Agreed tbh, it's the wrong decision for me but I don't blame the ref for us losing/not winning, I blame us <ok>

You talk about a player as if you see him every week. Mitrovic is the dirtiest player I have ever seen using your reckoning because I've seen him play 4 times and he's got 2 yellows and a straight red in those 4 games!

No blinding at all. He had a decent game at the weekend. I don't think he should be in the England squad now but he has certainly been overlooked in better form than others in the past. He started poorly this season but has got his game together now and looks like a player we could do with.

Second foul. His first was the worst foul of the game and he's still in the process of making it now!didnt get booked he got warned. His second was a pull of the shirt. Guaranteed yellow.

Three fouls is all cattermole committed in the entire game. Three. So "constantly fouling" is a complete overstatement of fct

Cattermole became an unexpected captain in a derby we were struggling in with a side lacking in confidence.

He did very well imo and had a great shot that Colback deliberately handled ........ no booking I noticed, inexperienced ref I suppose <whistle>

He wasn't though JC. Just 3 or 4 minutes before that he'd clattered someone out on your left wing somewhere near half way and the ref gave him a few hard words.

He then fouled in the middle of the pitch for his yellow right in front of the ref. Gave the ref no option really.
