In the legends thread it is full of the best names to have ever played football. But Funky posted Tony Yeboah. How he should of signed for Man U. This got me thinking as to if he was good enough. Could he have made it. Maybe. So other players who could/should have played for a so called bigger team in their prime. The prime example being Shearer.even though he.s a mag i dont think anyone of us would deny he was a helluva player and should have moved up. What about SKP could he have stepped up? Gyan?
Dont think Gyan had the right attitude to play for a big club, as his move to the middle east proved imo I was always surprised SKP didnt end up at a big team
maybe controversial on here, but how about Gascoigne ? I reckon he could have made it at a top (4) club if injuries/alcohol hadnt gotten in the way
Allesandro Del Piero - played for Juve all his career, could have won a lot more. Robin Van Persie... Oh he did, that's right.
Yeah, as much as I admire one club players, when they don't give themselves new challenges, particularly different leagues they kind of ellimate themselves from the elite category in my mind. Messi has to Leave Barca. He's got nowt on Ronaldo who's transferred his skills imo.
Did you read that thing on SSN from Balague saying Messi could be tempted to move from Barca, he's open to the move now more than ever apparently. You're looking at 4 clubs who could afford him, PSG, Chelsea, City and United (although only one of us can legitimately afford him, cough United cough. My guess is, IF... sorry IF he left Barca in the summer he'd be going to City, with Pep Guardiola... bum chums. I'd be fairly disappointed with that. Be interesting to see how he'd cope, I'd piss my pants if he went to City and flopped after a £200m transfer and £1.5m in wages per week.
Many a small player has come to the Prem and failed with the physicality. Many have succeeded. I don't think he's guaranteed to be a success mate.
