Bookies have it as a 3 horse race now. City and the Arse too close to call and Utd the outsiders.

    Best prices:
    Evens Man City
    15/8 Arseenal
    7/1 Manchester United
    50/1 Chelsea
    100/1 Liverpool
    150-1 Tottenham

  9. Arseenal (<whistle>) are basically 2-1 so they are (predictably and rightly) going with Man City <ok>

And given the crazy randoness of the league and the supposed top4/6 teams struggles anyone tempted by any of these:

    TOP4 finish:

    Chelsea: Evens
    Pool: 11/4
    Spurs 4/1
    Everton, West Ham, Saints 16/1
    Palace 33/1
    Leics 40/1

  11. I suppose those are fair, bookies aren't a charity afterall. If I put it another way, would you take a straight up £10 bet with a mate on Chelsea getting top four?

Maybe... I don't know. Tough call. Depends partially on who replaced Jose.

  14. I still think they'll get top four with or without Jose. Not enough to stick my hard earnt cash on it though

At this point that's kinda how I feel. It's got to the point though that Jose's departure is inevitable.

If Chelsea got Pep or Ancelotti I would make the bet.

If Chelsea got Rodgers (as a few silly links suggest) I would laugh my star off at the idea of him getting them to top four after this start.

  16. If they got Pep, my confidence in them not getting top four would grow! If they got Rodgers, I'd be undoubtedly confident. Anchelotti is the man they should be going for, they should never have sacked him the first time. They've got to re-employ Grant, Hiddink and Scolari first though <whistle>

I can't see Maureen getting the chop during the season. If they think there's a decent chance of getting Pep, then they'll hang on until the summer before bulleting him.

  18. I'd agree although I think Man City may be doing the same. There were rumours not long ago that Pepe as already agreed to join Man City too.

I don't rate him that highly tbh. Obviously he's good, you don't get where he is without being good. However, I think his reputation level is being his actual abilities. Most people could get Barca and Bayern winning. Least Mourinho did it at Porto first.

The rumours were that he himself fancied the United job. So all 3 could be in the mix for him nex summer.

I do rate him, I think he took a very good side and made them into the best club side there's ever been. Not surprisingly he's struggled to surpass that achievment. His career peaked at Barca - not because he's not capable of creating and managing great sides, but because the moons will never align in such a way ever again for him.

  20. His career peaked at Barca because he inherited a in prime Messi, Iniesta and Xavi!

As I said, he clearly is a good manager, I just think he is rated higher in the media than he actually is. He's seen as the number one messiah!

At Bayern, he again has the best team, can outspend his rivals tenfold and anything but a win is failure. The only difference is when they play in the CL but very few teams stack up still, only Barca, Real, Juve and possibly PSG that compare.
