Wasn't Allardyce one of the highest paid managers in Europe while at Wet Sham? No way on God's earth would he have ever considered under any circumstances managing a club like ours mate. Having said that, there's no way I would ever want a Neanderthal like him at my club anyways
I don't thinks so. Not by a manager like Big Sam. We are a fantastic club for a young, pragmatic, motivational manager like Lambert or Neil. It's such a great area, Great club, Great fans, Good set up. For managers like Allardyce, think he would look down on us, and prob if he did take the job, use it as a stepping stone. I'm not saying that's right. Can just imagine managers like that would look at us like that. Plus, a board that doesn't allow spending...Won't attract any of those kind of managers.
Sad thing about clubs like ours and West Brom, Stoke, Newcastle, etc is they're never going to threaten the top 5 or 6 in league terms, and so they will always just be a stepping stone to a good manager's progress. Likewise players, sadly.
Cardiff v Bristol City tonight. Elliott Bennett, Aaron Wilbraham, Anthony Pilkington And Korey Smith all on parade. Just like old times
Did you watch the game? How is Elliott do? Also interested in how Korey's developing? I always liked him.
Sorry TMC, I should have put a smiley on my post. In truth, I didn't think he was 30 but thought he was a bit older than you said. I was trying (badly) to highlight another startlet who never cut it at CR, shame really!
Everton have played some beautiful football today, thank god! Lukaku, Deulofeu, Barkley and Kone have been a joy to watch pass and move.
That is literally my only hope at the moment. Sunderland.....Big Sam was a perfect choice, he can make a big difference. So relieved about today result. Bournemouth I wanted to stay up with us, but their unlucky injuries...I'm now hoping they take a place. I can't see Villa going down...They always get out of it. I would love them to go down for many reasons. Can't see it, but as I say. We are at last ditch in terms of hopes.
Grealish in the Hoolahan Role tonight! Seems perfect for him, but Hoolahan played wide for a long time before he matured and moved inside. Be interesting to see how Grealish will adapt to it at such and young and inexperienced age.
Really great to see in a big team play: Rose Walker, Dier, Alli, Kane all being trusted regularly. Really excited to see Dier and Ali play together in central midfield. Future England Pair? I hope so! Both have massive potential!
Villa, Sunderland, Bournemouth, Us....The defense is so obviously the reason we are all down there! I would add Clark and Lescott to our starting line up.......and they looked really poor for the Spurs goal. That's a worry.
Well he was crap tonight, they looked far better when Gil came on. Good win for Spurs, I like their team at the moment, would like to see them make the top four in Chelsea's absence, I think it will be a good battle between they and Liverpool this season, looking forward to it.
