Millen has said it's time to start looking at the strongest 15 or 16 players in friendlies with a view to finding our first team XI... Starting line up tonight is James; Carey, Stewart, Nyatana, McAllister; Adomah, Elliott, Skuse, Campbell-Ryce; Stead, Maynard.

Really like the idea of a Maynard/Stead front two for the coming season providing Nicky stays of course. Concerned about the defence though if we don't get the loan targets Millen is after. Also think Cisse and Kilkenny would provide a great balance in the middle when both fit, Cisse screening our unconvincing defence while kilkenny looks to spread the ball about.

Also, someone on OTIB was saying how Nicky Hunt has been outstanding playing at CB in the reserves. Anyone watch the reserves that can back it up? I see he's starting there against Bath tomorrow night so was wondering if he's been given a final chance to prove himself in a new position seeing as we can't sell the bugger?

Agree about Maynard/Stead and Cisse/KilKenny. Anyone know if any of our fringe defenders are actually on the transfer list?

Not a great deal of cover or creativity in midfield, means JCR & AA doing a lot of tracking back?

well i worry for a beating by bath city if we is playing hunt and its a shame Kilkenny has an injury but hey at least none of the injuries seem serious wouldnt mind us trying the 3-5-2 against west brom as i think currently that will be our best formation

And on what facts do you base that prediction tommy lion? We finished mid table last season, we have improved the squad with our summer signings (although defenders are badly needed) and we have a fit and scoring Nicky Maynard, so really not sure how you come to make this prediction! Bring on ipswich let the season begin!!

Second season syndrome for you is my prediction, your right about Palace but I'm pretty certain you will be the other one!
