I am amused that Andrea Atzeni tipped Foundation on The Morning Line in a race that he has now won for the last three years. I think it would be fair to say that the race will not make the Frankie Dettori 2015 Highlight film. Terrible ride, tracking the wrong horse and allowing himself to get boxed in when there are only six rivals. It would be very harsh on the winner to suggest that Foundation would have beaten him with a clear passage but I am definitely convinced that we have seen no Derby candidates on Town Moor: Foundation may be a ten furlong horse at best and wants quicker ground, the jury is out on Deauville as he has won on soft ground before; and the winner Marcel does not appear to be packed with stamina but did show a good turn of foot on the ground.
