I don't understand why a footballer would need to publicly come out as opposed to their lifestyle itself making it apparent , or why their sexuality matters at all. People are what they are. It's a fair bet that there's a fair few gays posting on here, it doesn't make their football opinion any more or any less valid.
My worry about legalising gay footballers in the Premiership is if they lose control of themselves on the pitch and start performing fellatio rather than concentrating on the game. Impressionable supporters might copy them in the stands, as they did with David Beckham's mohican hairstyle, and I for one, do not want to be receiving oral pleasure from a random male fan whilst watching a game. I think they should be required to sign a contract where they agree not to do anything lewd on the pitch and for it to be written in the FA rulebook as a red card offence. ESSEX GULL
