Origi is struggling in front of goal, however I think he excellent at closing down opposition defence. He runs at the man with the ball whilst cutting off the angle for a pass. Although I am disappointed with him so far.

  3. His main problem is that he constantly opts for the wrong option. I think he needs to learn the decision making side of the game.

I agree, he also can be day dreaming in the box from time to time.

Not surprising given his age. Sterling cost 50m and that was his main issue, Ibe is having same problems as well.

Young players often make wrong decisions and they learn from it, hopefully in a year or two he'd have improved that part of his game, if not then it's time to worry.

  7. Difference being, Sterling and Ibe did/do occasionally make the right decisions

Origis played 3 games, bit harsh to suggest that he also won't make the correct decision. He has 2 assists in those 3 games as well

  9. I did say he's young and will learn <doh>

Plus, I was talking about ninety minutes, not careers.

His main problem is that he hasn't got a strikers instinct and can't hit a cows arse with a banjo

He's not good enough in front of goal and his stats suggest he never has been, which leads me to conclude, he never will be.

I agree with all of this. Were you there Billy? My lad was and he said the atmosphere was great, getting back to what it used to be. Return of the 12th man ?? <laugh>

To be fair, Origi hasn't really had many (if any) clear cut chances so hard to judge his finishing on that.

His decision making is poor but that's synonymous with the fact that we have an attacking unit with no cohesion - what options does he have?

It's a chicken and egg situation maybe, play well = more singing or more singing = play well ?? I don't know but as you say let's see what it's like tomorrow. I don't think any of us expected a complete turnaround on the first few games, patience being the order of the day but I'm encouraged by what I've seen so far in terms of energy, commitment and playing like we want to win or at least take part in the game <laugh>
