Strange way to go about it if he is.

He does remind me of Ramsey and wilshere before they found their shooting boots. Trouble is they have better players around them. Sadly coutinho doesn't yet.

  3. Maybe he's not happy that he's been told he's got to work hard. Back to sixty minute appearances for now.

My problems with cout have been the same, holds the ball way too long and is too ****ing hungry when it comes to shooting, which I wouldn't mind if he actually managed to score now and then.

Needs to get his head up and find someone and act quicker, too much putting his head down and running.Needs to be more aware, a couple of times there were better placed players and he took a shot instead.

Bit of a hungry **** if you ask me

  6. Generally agree although he does score every now and then lol

He's another player that needs to improve decision making.

    What's he said???

  8. Probably didn't use the right words. From he first joined, he was hit and miss often getting subbed around the hour mark because he was blowing out his arse.

Since Suarez left and he became the star man, he's not done the graft side as much as before. I think Brod told him not to chase things so that he could preserve energy and play a full ninety minutes.

Klopp's arrival as seen a turn to the former. No doubt Klopp will look to improve his fitness.

  9. Nothing as far as I can see. I think it's a reaction to him playing poor on Thursday

For all his ability, his end product and thus his stats - aren't that good.

He's the sort of player who Klopp and his team could have a big impact over, but ultimately the lad has to have the right attitude towards their tuition.

If he can add more consistent direct impact to his game - in terms of key chances created and goals, then he could be top drawer. At the minute he's a hit and miss 'luxury' player imo.

Ahh I see. I'm personally not concerned I think he's just finding his feet in the team.

Still young mind, so I think we have to expect that. I mean Barkley is a good player but he also is very hit and miss I think as they get older we will see far more magic and more consistency from these young talents.

    Fickle lot. <doh>
Earlier in the season he was our "Star Player", now we're calling him names. <laugh>

I doubt he's angling for a move- that would seem odd since we're led to be believe he was instrumental in getting Firmino to sign.
Nobby's style might be difficult for him to adapt to, but he was looking a bit off before the managerial change so that can't be the full story, imo.
He's always had a touch of the Garcias about him, I think, and I don't see him ever becoming a consistent performer. Perhaps he's just going through a bad spell- but he's not alone there.
We're all convinced we've got the best manager available to us, so let's give him some time to get to know his players, and sort them out.
If Coutinho does just get his head down and run, I'd rather he ran into the box rather than across the 20 yard line. At least in the box there's a chance he might get something.

He's 23 now mate, so the inconsistency of youth excuse is isn't one that can be used with him for much longer.

A big season for him, as I think that position is one that is absolutely key to Klopps preferred system. He needs to show he's good enough to fill it, or he could end up either shunted out wide or on the bench.

It looks like he alarmist doesn't trust some of our players so tries to do too much himself.

A a bit like when Suarez initially joined, he didn't trust Carroll and Downing so would try to do it all himself and would often not perform to a decent level. As soon as he was surrounded by other quality players in Sturridge and Coutinho and sterling he actually passed the ball to them and became w team player.

Wonder if similar is happening with Coutinho and he thinks of my option is pass to X or dribble and shoot is rather do the later.

Been wondering if he doesn't like Klopp's philosophy and/or playing under Klopp, two games and two bad performances

It could be this is a period of adaptation as well

I think he is a fair weather player. For all his skill and flair there is a character weakness there. Which is why the team can not be built around him which thankfully i don't think Klopp will do.

You say that but Sterling last season is still fresh in the memory for me. I agree with what you say about better players, though, he looks frustrated to me. So scared he'll get fed up and do one! <yikes>

All the best goal- scorers have an element of selfishness about them- it makes them what they are. Suarez still had a lot of that even with decent players alongside him.
Of course, Coutinho isn't a striker, and in his role he needs to learn to work better with others. Like you say, when a talented player finds his link-up play isn't coming off he will try to go it alone, but he has to be really good for it to work often enough.
A lot of players tend to take it on themselves to do it all if because they think they're better than everyone else.
In Suarez' case it was true.

He's always been like this, has a couple of periods through out the season where he's out of form.

In fact most players go through the same, its only the truly Worldclass players that do it for full seasons and then do it again season after season.
