Maybe you don't post much but many will remember your 2014 World Cup Charity Sweepstakes Thread which raised about 700 quid on here. Perhaps you will do another for the Euros next year?

The Hull City Football Fans forum is a good laugh atm.

So many hissy fitters, bed wetters on suicide watch especially after the Wendies game last Saturday.
The Samaritans must have had a busy weekend mind.

Thankfully for them after Tuesday night they have calmed down. Lol.

It's your modern football fan - high as kite or down in the dumps, they're brought up on MOTD and SKY Sports and unless they're seeing Messi & Ronaldo esque football they're not happy; they're all tactical geniuses (surely not genuii?)and know FAR more than any pro coach/manager ........... you know the type Tickler?

Really didnt see our support going that way but we have a lot of them now.
A few years ago it was apiss take on here that an idiot came on RH and said we should get Rafa Benitez in as our manager.
Now people are demanding we should win at least 7 or 8, and naming managers left right and centre who are "better" than Bruce.

Yes I do. I had a group of them behind me @ Nottingham Forest. One nearly went home with a black eye the crap he was coming out with. He was a lout of the worst kind and I suspect a regular on the xbox / Fifa game programme.

We now have a certain bad element of fans who really do need to get a grip. God knows how they deal with normal life. However you could guess.??!!!!

What we have now is Utopia compared to what we had post Don Robinson and pre-Adam Pearson(the first time).

Thanks BMB. I am always in awe of Mrs BMB's extraordinary memory and that refreshes my recollection of events when I was booted from Hull City Mad. I believe my original offense was objecting in strong language to a vicious attack on Mrs Thatcher on the day of her funeral by the person you mentioned (political discussion was allowed on that board). I refused to apologize and was red-carded out. Nice to hear from Roo subsequently of the nice comments about me.

I'm fairly sure we started going that way after our first foray into the PL - we attracted the PL ''whores'' who are satisfied with PL football and nothing else, we have a bad game and they're the ones chuntering and booing, getting on players backs, pissing and whining and dragging the place down. We all wanted to see City playing at the highest level, getting to Wembley, Cup finals and Europe is something us pre-KC types could only dream about. We've been there and seen it but, the new, modern fan who we've attracted is, mostly, as I described earlier, one good thing though, unless we get back to the PL this season they'll be gone in their droves, whinging to Burnsy after listening on the radio.

I'm really disillusioned about City and football in general, I thought when I was retired I'd never miss a game but as time goes on I'm choosing to ride my bike, watch my grandkids at dance comps and, sin-of-all-sins, I'm taking holidays in season ....... I'm still getting to odd games but the football spark's starting to fizzle out. Rant over, tea to make!

Average football players earning £100k plus a week angers me so much. Ronaldo and Messi as good as they are would not last long back in the day when tackling was allowed.

The true past greats of the game STILL ALIVE must be so envious of how the game is now. It used to be a mans game.

I don't see the problem with attracting people who are only interested in other teams. I saw the Stranglers who were a support act and there was only 3 people watching. I never saw them again but if I'd gone to one of their gigs with a few thousand there I wouldn't have a rant about it. People may become City fans for whatever reason. The first match I went to at Boothferry Park was a reserve match. Afterwards I learned we were playing Everton in the FA Cup - honest! Should people have insulted me then. I went to every home match bar one for the next 10 years.

I don't think you can call players who earn £100k plus a week average. Even if you only look at professional players they must be in a very small minority.

Although we all enjoy a good hard tackle it was a bit silly when England played Scotland and players were kicking each other with a ball in between them completely untouched. How could anybody condone the treatment of Pele by Bulgaria and Portugal in the 1966 World Cup?

before morley got the rules standardised, "hacking" was allowed in many games. this was the practice of kicking an opponents' shins. some clubs made a right fuss when it was illegalised. they probably complained that it was no longer a man's game.

In the Portugal v Brazil match Pele was indeed targeted. He had, however, come into the game with a suspect knee which had been injured in an earlier match against Bulgaria and had flared up again in the next match against Hungary. It did not take too many Portugese tackles before he was reduced to playing on the left wing, effectively on one leg and running with a limp!

My favourite player then was Eusebio who managed to avoid injury in that game and had a great match. Portugal won and Brazil's WC campaign was over.

No substitutes in those days( except goalkeepers). Also goalkeepers were not protected species and often took a hammering.

otherwise brazil could have been wc winners four times in a row. how lucky we were!

still, i much prefer their first 3 wc winnings to the last 2. like comparing jmw turner with damien hurst.

You have to be a very good footballer to have any chance of earning £100k a week.

You'll never beat Rivals for the best forum, shame it had to go. I actually got laid a few times, albeit with the same girl, that I met through Rivals! Good time!

By todays standards yes. Due to a mass shortage of genuine quality in world football.
