I just wish all this had come out at the time then maybe he could have stayed as there was nothing malicious done, but others will see it differently.

I am a bit confused by some of the things he said - he could not play for us against Newcastle (totally unprofessional) and yet he says that the fans should always have players that give 100% (professional). I think I will stick with my original judgement - he's a tw*t

He played well for us and probably got more adulation and respect from our fans than he ever got from Newcastle's. Then he went and done that..Totally unforgivable, and there was no way he could play for us after that.

Did you know that Chris Waddle never played against Sunderland?
Can't remember who's autobiography I read that in but it's a fact apparently.

Never knew that one, surprised at it the amount of time he spent in Prem, like I said, who pays the piper calls the tune

I met Lee Clarke outside the SOL when he played for us. I was with my little Sis who was about 7 at the time, she wanted an autograph.
I hated him from that day on even before the Tshirt incident.
What a horrible, ignorant, obnoxious twat he was!

Waddle was well known as a Sunderland fan (as was Steve Harper who has a Sunderland tattoo on his ankle).
Whenever Waddle was due to face Sunderland he always had some mysterious knock or virus that kept him out.

What's the difference between Lee Clark not trying his heart out and say Adam Johnson, Stephen Fletcher... all the lads who've not bothered and got your last 5 managers the boot/forced them to leave?

To be fair to him, he looks like the sort of lad who'd have trouble spelling his own name.

He'd get on well with Willie One Foot McClean then.

To be honest I cant remember being particularly bothered over the t-shirt incident at the time, and I wouldn't be so bothered now. I mean what he did was daft, but when you compare it to the ****e that we have to put up with now, it doesn't compare. Who would you rather have representing your club? A bloke who got caught up in the fervour, passion and excitement of his boyhood team being in a cup final and doing something silly at the heat of the moment or some seedy bloke who, lets be honest, seems at best to have cheated on his lass (with child) with somebody who he thought was a trifle over 16 years old. What about a player who decided to go around scratching peoples cars? Clark had to leave whilst performing very well on the football pitch, whilst the other two currently continue to perform somewhere between inconsistently and very poorly. I know which character that I would rather have in the dressing room at present.

It might just be the way I read the article, but to me he still seems to be a bit in denial over the T shirt incident

He's saying someone put it on him, but he's hardly struggling to get the thing off is he - seems happy enuf with the situation.

I think he's an absolute scum bag. I didn't want us to sign him, but he really did do well for us in his first season.

After that we got exposure to what he is really like.

Now he's trying to play the part of the mature manager, desperate to get back in and fail again
