I don't think effort or confidence was the issue - it was just a lack of quality from midfield and attack.

I'm still putting some blame on Skrtel for the goal, it should have been his man if he had been positioned correctly, and was playing him onside. Ergh.

What happened to the supposedly ****e opposition that is faced in this comp? The sort of supposed ****e that we blew away, week after week in this comp last season, winning our group at a canter

It's not like Van Gaal who had an entire preseason to prepare to lose to Swansea, draw with Sunderland, then lose to MK Dons.

Injuries and learning a new manager's ways, all while remaining undefeated and still on to qualify.

What happened to Martinez's promise to get Everton CL football?

    Injuries? <laugh>

Only Sturridge was missing. The Russians have been in grim form and you couldn't beat them with 10 men. You were ****.

Early doors yet, not happy with some of the work put in by some players and the quality when needed. There are signs of a formation and system that will improve.

Can looked good, Lucas was good, Sakho was good. Everyone is learning what is required from the manager.

C'mon now, Skrtel has to check his shoulder earlier and has to react to the danger so yes has to take some of the blame but Clyne is the one who makes the mistake.

  18. I say stop it at the source. Can dived in, got mugged off and decided to walk with his head on the floor!

Clyne was wrong side. Basic error for a defender

Both are at fault but look at Skrtel's positioning? Why was he deeper than everyone else? It's these basic errors he makes every week.

The captain. Our first, second, and third choice strikers were unavailable to start. Firmino was unable to start. Gomez out. Rossiter out. Flanagan out.

    Aside from that like...
