And that is nearly three, Ross Barkley meeting the following corner with a downwards header which Giedrius Arlauskis turns away at close range. Watford fans may not have seen much from their keeper before tonight but he looks decent!

Apparently Alexis Sanchez was 'cursed' by fans of Peru before Tuesday's match against Chile on Tuesday during a ceremony involving a tortoise, but their efforts were to no avail - Chile won 4-3 with the Arsenal forward scoring twice - maybe the curse has a delayed reaction and comes into force on Saturday? :)

Nope..but I did serve behind the bar of a Southend pub one summer in the early 60s. Those were the days...Kursaal Club, mods and rockers scrapping on the beach, bottles of white label Worthington.

I don't remember it either, but then we have had rather more happen than they have. I do remember a trip to Aldershot that was quite peaceful, but they must have spent a fortune on lost balls that disappeared over the stands.

The prospect of Lloyd Doyley’s playing days at Vicarage Road coming to an end look to be increasing after he joined Charlton Athletic on trial.

The popular defender is a free agent after his Watford contract expired at the end of June, but he remained with the club he joined as a schoolboy to return to fitness following neck surgery.

Although the 32-year-old stands fifth on the list of Hornets’ all-time appearance makers, it is no surprise he is looking elsewhere for the chance to play first-team football again given the club has several options to cover the full-back positions.

Speaking last month after making his return to action with the Under-21s, Doyley said: “I am just trying to get match fit. It has been a frustrating five months. All I am concentrating on is getting a few games under my belt and seeing where it takes me.”
“Doyley is a legend of Watford,” head coach Quique Sanchez Flores said on the same day. “He is an amazing professional and, more importantly, he is an amazing person.”

Doyley’s association with the Hornets began 23 years ago and he made his first-team debut under Luca Vialli in September 2001.

Good luck to him but you wonder how much the injury would have taken out of him...

A great servent and decent defender but you wonder if the lack of ability on the ball maybe means Lloyd will have to drop down the leagues?

You've got to question though why buy an international left back & not play him there. Ok, in the championship I understood but once we were up I expected him to be played in his specialist position.

QSF in the WO today seems to suggest some doubts over the new signings that haven't made an impacts.

Suggestions that their fitness and form is a problem.
