Manchester City reported over Champions League anthem boos

Manchester City have been reported to Uefa after fans were heard booing the Champions League anthem before their win 2-1 over Sevilla on Wednesday.
Match delegate Geir Thorsteinsson, the chairman of the Iceland FA, detailed the incident and disciplinary proceedings have now been opened, with the case set to be heard in November.
It is understood Manchester City will not be commenting on the issue.
However, the club are expected to defend their fans at the hearing.

Man City booing Uefa anthem that could see them fined
It is not the first time Manchester City supporters have voiced their anger against Uefa.
Last year a City fan group led a protest against European football's governing body after 650 CSKA Moscow supporters gained access to the Khimki Arena for their Champions League game, despite the Russian club being ordered to play it behind closed doors.
CSKA were handed the sanction as punishment for a series of offences including racist chanting.
Kevin Parker, general secretary of Manchester City supporters' club, told BBC Radio 5 live: "The City fans have absolutely no love for Uefa, it's clear.
"Do Uefa seriously think the threat of sanctions is going to have an impact? Everybody has got a right to a freedom of expression. City fans are just using that right to say we don't like that tune and we don't like Uefa."

I must admit I did check the calendar to see if it was 1st April

22nd October must now be the new April 1st Kinky!

UEFA will probably feel obliged to respond now that it's been reported. The idiots are so out of touch and have no idea how they're perceived by the man in the stand.

Reported for booing an organisational "anthem". Hilarious!

Why should anybody respect UEFA after Platini was given his marching orders?

    **** them, bunch of filth.

Loads of trouble in town last night, Polish fans clashing with Sevilla fans. Chairs getting lobbed every where, if I was @Big Funk Allardyce I'd put the vine up, but I'm not, I'm Tel, and I haven't got a clue how to!

Sinclair's again mate. Apparently this group of Polish fans follow the Sevilla fans across Europe due to a previous coming together a few seasons ago. I think the chairs took the brunt of it!

Earlier this week, Barcelona were fined 40,000 euros due to their fans displaying flags of Catalan Nationalist parties. It is OK to fly the red and yellow flag of the region. The political party emblem is the same but with a purple triangle on the left with, I think a red star inserted in said triangle. Meanwhile a certain club gets away scot free for it fans abusing people on the Metro systems of Paris!! Work that one out!!

I could understand fans getting upset if it was their countrys national anthem but it wasn`t.

I mean, come on, it`s a company theme tune.

Talking of booing national anthems!!! 90,000 booed the Spanish anthem at the Nou Camp, Barcelona in May! Why? It was Barca v Athletic Bilbao in the final of the Copa del Rey and to them the Spanish anthem is an imposition by the Madrid Government (Castile) which is loathed by Catalans and Basques alike. .
