Don't remember the count but it was a long time. Goals alone he had very few of at first... But he was a valuable member of the squad during that time... Created lots of chances for others... Winning ball back... Stretching the defence... He just couldn't score for a long time and that's what he was judged on. A forward who couldn't score.

A 6ft 7" bloke who was ****e in the air.

The Freak (as he was affectionately known) got dogs abuse at Goodison. Never minded him myself, as a bloke he's always come across as a decent egg, and on the pitch he 'did a job'. as they say.

Personalitywise I always liked Crouch. One of my favourite players.

Was never a Crouch fan simply not good enough, I was at Anfield when he hit that overhead though.

He got better. A year with Rafa and he wasn't bad in the air anymore... He became good.

He was effective I think is what you'd say about him. He's not good enough to be starting in a title challenging team but as a squad option for top 4 he was more than good enough. Would chip in with 10 goals a season and countless assists / key contributions for other goals.

Remember his perfect hat trick against Arsenal.

Issue growing up was that being taller he probably didn't need to learn decent technique about jumping and how to cope with tall defenders challenging him.

He started really well for you guys surprised he's not been involved anymore recently although don't know if the style you're playing isn't suiting him? He likes crosses so depends how you guys have been playing.

Give him a chance in the area and he'll put it away though.

... you're spot on ... we brought him on against Norwich and his first touch was to head a goal from a corner .. that was then (harshly I felt) ruled out for Huth having 'impeded' the keeper - who was getting nowhere near the ball ...

... hmm can't deny the stats but they don't necessarily tell the full story ... for instance, David Nugent is statistically the best striker England have ever had ... one appearance, one goal ... and for those that didn't see it; he got the ball on the edge of his own penalty area, set-off on a run beating 4 opposition players before dispatching a sweetly timed half-volley into the top corner from all of 25 yards ... and that's how legends are made <laugh>

Yeah he's just not the kind of player I like, nothing against him though always seemed a nice enough bloke.

The one he stole on the goal line from someone else lol.

Stats can be misleading but can't argue that the guy has more headed goals than shearer / Ferdinand etc

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp accuses England of handling young players "like horses", after Jordan Rossiter returned from Under-19 international duty with a hamstring injury.

The 18-year-old returned to Melwood with the problem after playing three matches of 90 minutes during the last international break.

Speaking ahead of the Reds' upcoming Europa League match with Rubin Kazan at Anfield, Klopp said "young players are our future. If we handle them like horses we get horses."

... take it Jurgen never got to see Frankel then? <laugh>
