Following last night's ugly defeat, I contemplated suggesting that the response from the Charlton version of the People's Judean Front should be to call an emergency meeting of CAST ....just as soon as Woolwich Town Hall has finished its night time Somali language lessons in Feb 2016. This won't be necessary, as a new suggestion from a strangely familiar face has emerged today... @CAFCBlackNWhite. You might think that 99% of Charlton fans are more concerned about the bad players, the poor team and the absentee owner yet rest assured, none of these are addressed in BenNWhite's list of 4 demands. In a list which could loosely be interpreted as "can me and Rick have our jobs back?", he instead concentrates on the Club filling 'key jobs', publishing a list of who holds these jobs, and best of all, asking Fibbing Katy to come up with a comms strategy by a date that BenNWhite has plucked out of the air. March 2016. Best of all though are the 'sanctions' that BenNWhite is proposing to show Nasty Roland that he means business. Err. There aren't any. Instead, fans are being urged to wear black and white scarves v Brentford to show Nasty R that this time we really mean business It's a bit like the Mayor of the Isle of Sheppey threatening to declare war on Putin's Russia. My rhetorical question, once I have recovered from my laughter stitch, is this.... Do you think a Belgian megalomaniac worth an estimated 800m Euros will be persuaded to re write his Charlton business plan if 120 flatulent old farts he can't even see because he won't be there, turn up dressed like Fulham fans on Saturday?
Passive agressive gone mad. I think a really agressive poster campaign, maybe coupled with a petition and some droll t shirts will have RD begging to be allowed to scurry back to Belgium. Maybe someone could write a vitriolic poem and stick it in VOTV. Maybe we're shafted.
Just imagine the dreaded phone call between Katrien and Roland in Belgium, after defeat this Saturday... KM "I bring very bad news, master" RD "Merde! Has someone spilt Bovril over the Fan's Sofa?" KM " Far worse, I have just seen Ben Hayes dressed as a Fulham fan".
Now you're talking my language... I shall rally Anon; well if there is any Charlton fans in Anonymous. Well maybe just me.
I suppose you could include the anonymous 4000 fans who attend home games according to the announced attendance figures but aren't anywhere to be seen.
How I judge him/this situation: If offered any sort of role by the club, would he roll over? Yes. Debate over.
In his endless quest to get another job at Charlton, @BenNWhite completely misses the target as usual. Just imagine a group of disgruntled Charlton fans in the pub before Saturday's game... "I am not happy, the Club still have not published a list of their key job holders"
There is only one way to get through to the hierarchy: don't show up on Saturday. Money is key. Don't buy programmes, pies, scarves, hot drinks etc. It just won't happen, though.
But this isn't about making things better for Charlton fans. It's about *someone getting noticed* (Charlton Life now acts as a free advertising site for his trolling activities) . He is hoping that KM tells RD "we need to get this guy on board".
I'm not attending on Saturday - I'm choosing a birthday instead. The club don't care that people like myself won't attend. They're so deluded about being on course with "the plan". That doesn't involve ambitions of promotion.
This black and white scarf thing is a joke, right? Roly will most probably order a few thousand to be sold in the club shop. Brown shirts and swastikas may be a better alternative for any forthcoming protest movement. Not that I'm advocating such a move...
No, not a joke. An honest attempt to remind the RD survivors that BenNWhite would love a new job at the Club (the museum curator being an unpaid position). I assume Roland (who hasn't been to a home game in over a year) will be at the Brentford game to see these black n white scarves
And there were thousands of fans wearing Scarves. Having about 38 people dotted about across an empty stadium will mean that nobody even realises.
