... or perhaps also where someone asserts that Vardy is bang ordinary in Prem terms when that sort of comparison suggests that, in contrast, his story is extraordinary ...
Ashley Young isn't even renowned for his goalscoring. No one has signed or played Ashley Young because of his goalscoring.
... now don't get all hissy ... I commented that, in general, those most critical about Vardy hadn't actually seen that much of him and that such views therefore stemmed from ignorance (and perhaps footballing snobbery) more than empirical evidence based on actual observation ... you then stated that you had seen more than enough of him on which to base your opinion (although you were somewhat vague and evasive about just how much time that amounted too )... ... now my suggestion of how much time that probably was. I would humbly submit, would be about equivalent to the live game footage of Wayne Rooney at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa ... where anybody not otherwise familiar with the player might justifiably have thought that England, having been short of players, had hurriedly recruited some guy found in the local KFC drooling over the biggest bargain bucket and then understandably performing with all the coordination of Oscar Pistorius in a magnet factory and with comfort around the ball similar to a post vasectomy operative around the time that the anaesthetic has just worn off ... arguably not a fair assessment perhaps?
Well that is indeed strange because Villa only signed him after he had been playing as a striker for Watford? wait.... ... are you seriously suggesting that United only signed him for his 'aerial' ability (and I'm not referring to heading a football)?
... how many 'Champions' can a country have .... ironically you name two from both Spain and England ... which more or less proves the point ... it has become little more than a money making mini league for the richest clubs ... the early qualifying rounds and groups are pretty pathetic tbf ... 2 teams likely to go through and some cannon fodder ... I think they should broaden it to all past Champions too or come clean and change the title to: The Champions, Runner's Up, Third and Possibly Fourth Placed Teams From Some Leagues, Plus Winners From The Europa League, Possibly Being Rewarded For Failure In The Previous 'Champions' League, League ... I accept it's a bit of a mouthful
tbf Leicester made £71.6m in payments from the interest in football around the world that 'those rich clubs' like Real, Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal etc are creating, because I'm as sure as I can be that nobody in Asia is tuning in to watch Leicester
The same early round cannon fodder are the 'champions' that bigfox wants in over the likes of Atletico Madrid, City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Real Madrid etc. I'm not disputing the fact that it is a money making mini league for the richest clubs, or that the group stages are pathetic, I agree with that. That doesn't mean I wouldn't rather watch Atletico Madrid Vs Arsenal, the 3rd place teams from their respective leagues, playing each other over Celtic Vs TNS, champions of their own league.
...fair points. .. although in terms of Asia there is a Leicester City club shop at Bangkok airport thanks to our owners and we are fast becoming popular in Japan due to Okazaki being their all time international record goal scorer
You're still banging on about Rooney? You seem fixated on the guy. Personally I'm not much of a fan. I suspect however that his career will prove to be more successful than Varadona's. They're pretty close in age!
Rooney was a very good player. Just peaked in about 5 or 6 years ago in his early 20's which is odd. He has gradually got worse with age.
Rooney is a weird one, he doesn't have good games just great or total ****, unfortunately the great ones are not very often these days.
