I don't think it's simply the cost that is putting people off. The match day experience has been poor for quite a while, and that's not all down to the Allams.

Its just ****ing ****e at the KC
Dreadful atmosphere and to many brain dead fans that know zip about footballl.
We must have the worst set of fans in the league
People getting restless and irritated when we are trying to work an opening.
All some idiots want to see is the ball huffed into the area.
I dont looked forward to going at all now its a crap place

Obviously not, there's a whole variety of reasons, but putting the prices up was only ever going to compound the problems.

Aye, but just repeatedly grumbling at the price won't stop even more drifting away because of the poor experience, especially as that side of it is something we could work toward resolving without too much involvement from the club.

We didn't renew our passes this season due to a host of reasons including the almost 40% price increase over 2 seasons despite relegation and didn't go last night as we had just returned on an overnight flight so jet lagged. But I am afraid we felt very unwanted and unappreciated by the club at the end of last season and I think quite a few others did too. We still go to most matches (and will be there on Saturday and next week at MK Dons) but we will not go to all matches and certainly not any where the price is over £30.

If the club and owners want to treat us like sh*te then what do they expect?

Quite agree as regards the poor "match day experience". It seemed right from the opening of the KC that some people, ie the police and people like like Cooper wanted a sanitised crowd with not even a hint of any exuberance.
A couple of thousand last Saturday in a stand with a high roof and open ends made more noise and created more atmosphere than nearly 16,000 did last night. Look at that clip Lambretta man put on if last night. After a goal at most grounds you see people bouncing up and down going mental. We had people politely applauding. Some of them. Hadn't even been moved enough to get out of their seat.

I have no idea how one would address the matchday experience without much involvement from the club, particularly as I'm not a fan of the Palace style fan orchestration, but good luck to anyone who wants to give it a go.

There are quite a few things that could be done. A lot of it is basic stuff that used to happen anyway in the pre KC days.

Sadly, a lot of opportunities have been missed, and the pre KC fans are a dwindling number.

There was a time when I'd have been happy to get involved, but sadly, I can barely drag myself to a game, and not much of that inertia is due to the Allams, it's a host of other factors.

    No.
I dont know same crowd nearly as last time against Ipswich but people paying a lot more last night.

Hull City v Ipswich October 20th 2012, that was a Saturday so more Ipswich I imagine 15, 983.
    Hull City v Ipswich October 20th 2015 Tuesday 15,942.

There seem to be quite a few that think the singing is something to watch, rather than it being something to participate in.

The game should be one part of a good day out, not the theatre event it's become.

They really know how to carry on at a football match as this video of a friendly shows. We hear about poor acoustics being to blame for the lack of atmosphere at the KC. This team play in a stadium with no roof on 3 sides and a high one on the other. Contrast their fans in the equivalent of our West Stand. We hear about dangers of smoke from one flareand all the little children being frightened. No. One has expired at one if their games, neither has there been a conflagration despite loads of streamers being thrown at the same time as the flares and fireworks going off. The little baby the player is holding seems totally unfazed by it all. Maybe this country has bred a load of wimps and drama queens and the Greeks are made of sterner stuff.

Agreed. Ipswich Town @ home on a Tuesday night with a low away following was hardly going to get the punters to the KC.

Birmingham on Saturday as you say should get the crowd up. Maybe to 20,000-ish depending on how many they bring.

Tuesday brings Leicester City / The Tinkerman / AKCJ et al and should also be a good gate due to the freebies and low prices.
3 home games in 8 days does not help at all.

I remember in the 2007/2008 promotion season the attendances didn't get very high until after we beat Southampton at home 5-0 in March, 4 home games from the end of the season we got 16829 for that game. Up to and including that game our average attendance had been 17212 including one game with 14K and seven games with 15K.

Of course price will have an impact on the attendances but so does the fans belief that we might actually get promoted, early in the season most fans aren't sure.

Interestingly in that season on the 29th September 2007 we played Ipswich, attendance 15456.

Looking back at the home games for that season one game stands out for being one of the worst games I've seen, the visit of Iain Dowie's Coventry City to the KC on a cold January evening, attendance 14822. A last minute Caleb Folan goal won it but it will be remembered more for Jay Tabb making a noise like a shot seagull.

Ye usually ignore them when you have an agenda.
As you well know we have **** supporters who will use any excuse not to go to City when we arent doing well.
Hopefully we will do well this season. Whats the betting our attendances increase as a result.

The fact is that Ipswich Town are just not a draw at all especially on a Tuesday night. Even RH presenter Andy Comfort who is an Ipswich fan had another event to go to and missed the game. I bet those who travelled up from Ipswich also wished they had stayed away.

Spot on ^^^^^ this. Ground atmosphere has been in decline since standing was banned.

Until we play teams with a decent away following it will always be poor on noise.

the problem might be that the Allams are not in the ground getting behind the team, we need their leadership on and off the pitch

It's a number of reasons. Football atmosphere is worse than a decade ago across most teams in the English leagues. Hull are no exception.

The Allams, the perceived issues and cost are additional factors.
