Maybe I shouldn't say it...... But as a lad in the late late 60s early 70s I liked those days.. So did plenty of others And before that it was mods n rockers And before that Teddy Boys.
I think in those days most young lads liked the excitement. I didn't want to hurt anybody but the camaraderie was fantastic and you didn't want to let your mates down.
Times change. Wouldn't want it like that now. I wouldn't have took the juniors to games like I do now
I may be the last one standing Peter Still in my Docs...Harrington...Crombie...Levis Braces etc All my music is reggae n ska Often stand and wonder were everyone else went. Cream and led zeplin.....ya bloody hippy
I liked the terraces. I'm looking forward to Brentford. I can manage to stand for 90 minutes at matches but I can't seem to "sing" for any length of time and doubt I could jump about like I used to.
I respect people who form an opinion and stick by it more than those who blow with the prevailing wind. If someone wanted Bruce out before last night, it's very unlikely they wouldn't want him out today.
I don't go to gigs or listen to music now. I may watch things on YouTube now and again like I would go to gigs in my 30s but mainly people like Reckless Eric, Jonathan Richman and John Otway.
Yes, in league matches Sunderland 33 matches ago and Cardiff 62 matches ago. So second time in 33 or third time in 62 more than 2 goals have been scored
To be fair SB did what most of us wanted last night by benching Huddlestone and playing two up front. We won 3-0 and it's a step in the right direction. If he continues in this way I think he should get credit, but if he drops anchor (Hudd) again on Saturday it will be frustrating. Bruce needs to use players based on current form and not past reputation like he did last night. For me Huddlestone should only be brought off the bench for (say) the last 10 tminutes in games when we need to shut up shop - that is his only practical use.
I seem to recall you being one of the first, if not the first, on Bunkers with a skinhead cut. You stood out because of your height. Recall my little blond haired mate, who you will remember, trying to strike a match on the stubble.
I went to Palace away in the mid seventies - we won 2 0 at the end of the season and got them relegated - there were only 6 of us - we went down in a sunblest bread van and the driver didn't go to the game but he fell asleep in the van in a side street - we were outside the ground surrounded by about 200 palace fans at the end of the match waiting for the dozy **** to pick us up - a line of about 30 police surrounded us to stop the Palace fans getting to us - the cops were totally pissed off coz the van driver was nowhere to be seen coz he'd fell asleep - anyway he turned up after about 20 to 30 minutes after the match had finished - the police parted the Palace fans and we rushed onto the van to the thud of stones banging against the van - off we sped and after about 300 yards the idiot stalled it with Palace fans hot in pursuit - anyway he got it going again and we finally got back in the early hours
