If he was a scouser, you would probably think he's great ...

  3. No. I have no affiliation to scousers since I'm not a scouser myself. I just don't write them off immediately for not having "inho" in their name.

If a player is poor, I say they're poor. If they are poor but show signs of ability I'll back them (Lucas, Kuyt, Hendo, etc - note that not one of them is Scouse).

Not really - I criticise Flanno which obviously upsets you so rather than argue against the point, you play on the whole local vs foreigner debate.

The fact that you laugh off the point I made about him being the most dribbled past defender just highlights this further.

Flanno is a great squad player to have imo because he'll give his all to get in the team therefore keeping the other technically better full backs on their toes. Wisdom simply isn't good enough Marko needs a chance to prove himself but so far he's been terrible.

A lot of the players on the fringe of things will get a shot with Klopp in charge it's down to them to take it.

He may have put some weight on while he's been injured <whistle>

And I agree with the points that players need to earn their place but that's assuming that everyone was given a fair chance under Rodgers which clearly wasn't the case ...

  10. Upset? <laugh> I laugh at you all the time when it comes to Flanno because your view is so blinkered by that one statistic! You use that and (despite claiming otherwise) his place of birth repeatedly. You tried to claim he lacked match fitness (ignoring injuries) yesterday despite him having a energetic reputation resulting in him being labelled the Scouse Cafu <doh>

I laugh off the point because you've mentioned it so many times yet fail to appreciate the team he was playing in or the inexperience the lad had at the time (and still has tbf). He may have been dribbled past but how many goals were conceded due to him though? You do realise dribbled past could mean a player gets closer to the byline but then the defender is back in position to prevent the cross still right? Something Enrique was superb at (another player you dislike). Getting dribbled past doesn't matter if the situation remains under control.

I could change my opinion but then we'd both be wrong <ok>

The Scouse Cafu was the most cringe worthy nickname I had ever come across.

Personally, Manquillo is the better player.

  12. Maybe, maybe not. Difference is, one is our player and the other isn't. IMO, there wasn't much in it so there was little point in purchasing Mankiller. Especially since Flanno can play either side whereas Mankiller was just a RB.

Its also funny that you've previously said Flanno would make a good squad player but now he needs to go asap despite being injured the entire time. What changed?

I was probably being polite - he's simply not good enough for this club. Squad player is all he'll be if he hits his ceiling. Klopp could work wonders with him.

  14. I guess time will tell. I'd say the fact he played in a title challenging season proves he's good enough for us right now, especially considering he's not even played a full season in terms of games (35 appearances) for us yet!

I don't actually think he is a world beater, I don't believe he is good enough for a title winning side either. But I do think he is good enough for a top four side and I believe he is a better option than Moreno.

Edit: the reason I love him so much is because of his never say die attitude along with the ferocious tackle. We need more of that in the team rather than the lying down and letting other teams tickle our bellies BS. It's why i think Klopp will love him too.

Replace Moreno with him and we will lose our attacking threat down the left hand side - just as we did with Gomez?

  16. Flanno is better going forward than Gomez but obviously Moreno is better than both. With it being a squad game it is good to have options. I'd prefer a defensive and offensive minded FB for both RB and LB as squad options. Obviously its better if you can get players that can do both such as Clyne.

@TonyBarretTimes: Liverpool do not have an option to recall Lazar Markovic early from his season long loan to Fenerbahce.

Safe to say that the Echo have lost a few links with the club since Rodgers left..

Never said he was a better tackler than Sakho? I said that tackling on the front foot he's very good like Sakho which you love so surprised you don't afford the same praise to Flanno as its one thing you love about a sakho.

Can an you find the link wth all these stats about him being te 'most dribbled past' as haven't seen it any where other than you mentioning it (not saying you're lying just want to see what other stats about him it has).

I I don't think anyone thinks the kid is a workdie (remember he's only 22 so actually plenty of time to improve). He might come back from injury and not be half as good, may have been a purple patch bad never got that form again but that doesn't mean the kid wasn't our best defender that year and was excellent for us and shoukd be given an opportunity to prove he can be party of the squad

In terms of Markovic, I agree with Jimmy in that he should have been given a chance in his preferred position a lot more.

Coming into to a new league is hard enough but when you're shifted about from position to position it must be hard to show your best form.

Yes he shouldn't winge about it, but if you're stuck at RB and playing poorly and the fans / media are all writing you off it must be hard to sit there and take it. I think most of us would want to say I'm being played in a position I've never played before so cut me some slack.
