The Chairboys welcome the Exiles to Adams Park needing to get back to winning ways, after climbing to the top of the pile three weeks ago they haven't collected a single point since and there is no better time to put that right than against the basement boyos, but they must beware as after having there own unbeaten run on away day Saturday and winning run at Broadhall Way ended at the weekend the stats show that the Exiles have a perfect record at AP. Gaz is slowly getting his squad back to full fitness as Captain Paul Hayes is very close to making a return and may make the bench, changes are likely with Harriman, Sellers and Holloway all pushing for starts, but after missing the trip to Stevenage Sam Wood is unlikely to be back in contention for a starting place but may make the bench. I won't be at AP for this one as working a late shift but I will be expecting the lads to get back to winning ways with a convincing win and as all the teams above us have difficult games the opportunity to climb back into the play-off positions must be takenCOYB
According to the BFP Hayes will play some part tonight,as cw says that front three will make me more confident of a much needed 3 points.
11 points from the relegation zone. If we can't beat Newport, or even score against them (conceded 23 goals so far), who can we beat? Come on Wycombe. FFS score.
Depressed is the word one is looking for. I was feeling this season that if we needed a goal in injury time, we would get it. The last 2 games I have felt resigned to fact that it isn't going to happen. How is that? I don't even watch the games.
lack of width seems to be an issue, as well as playing 3 misfiring strikers upfront. I cant remember the last time holloway had a good 90 minutes, thompson last played well against exeter from what i hear and ugwu has never had a good game! As for a lack of width weve sent our only out and out right winger away on loan (although harriman would do the job very well) and gaz seems reluctant to play sellers. With that in mind, as soon as wood and hayes are fit i think we need to return to a 4-4-2 with them both in, like at the start of last season. Let hayes and thompson regain their strike partnership that was looking promising earlier in the year, find a defensive back 4 and stick to it, and this team just needs more passion and desire! easier said than done, i know,,,,,
Come on you lot I've been bigging you up to my mates recently and your bottom has dropped out so to speak. I'm relying on you for better results from here on in.
I used to feel confident that very few teams would put 2 past us. Now 4 teams have done it on the trot, including bottom of league side Newport. We also seem to have forgotten where the goal is situated. These two unfortunate shortcomings can only result in us falling further down the League. I hope there isn't some discontent building up in the dressing room, (maybe due to a player or two thinking they are going on to higher things and not giving 100%?). I've no idea but when the passion is missing there is always a reason. That is one thing the team had that kept them going. So where is it now? Big test for Gareth now. Does he have a player or two he would like to drop but can't afford to? Seen it all before. Oh to be a fly on the wall.
The 4-3-3 system clearly isn't working and we need to find some pace on the right and some creativity in the middle of the park O'Nien works hard but he is hardly a Scowen let alone a Saunders when we solve this problem along with the return of Hayes and Wood we will be OK
Seems we've got the stubborn Ainsworth from 2 seasons ago, just as well i havn't made my mind up about him yet.
