They maybe lacked a bit of urgency and intensity at times, but I don't think they came solely looking for a point.

Arsenal played a game that is alien to them i.e. sitting deep and holding a tight shape, and it worked for them as Bayern looked vulnerable to the counter. Wenger got it bang right tonight and gave a master class in how to unravel the high press tact.

  4. I liked your first comment because I thought you were being sarcastic <doh>

Only one team wanted a draw then and it wasn't Ze Germans!

Fair enough. From what I heard, Arsenal could have taken the lead in the first half. Not sure they won it based on the counter attack though? A goal can come from any set piece tbf.

As well as a great performance by Cech, Arsenal defended extremely well which is what kept them in the game and ultimately allowed them to snatch a couple of goals.

They also pressed quite high up at times.

Bayern were very good to be fair but was one of those games where they couldn't finish it. It happens. Still a powerhouse of a team.

Walcott should probably have buried his headed chance and giroud missed a clear headed chance and in general in the first half Arsenal looked dangerous on the counter.

Arsenal created the better chances and could have won it by more ;)

They've always looked vulnerable under Pep imo. I don't see them ever getting further than the S/F with him in charge.

They were much better under Heynckes but this team is still great to watch.

I thought Giroud came on in the 2nd half? I didn't see the first half, but I just felt Bayern were playing in 2nd gear and when you come to the game with that sort of preparation, then go a goal down, you can never pick it back up which was evident with Bayern at 1-0 down. The amount of passes doesn't flatter Bayern at all imo.

In summary I think we can all agree Arsenal are kings of Europe and Wenger should win the balloon door manager whatever it is called award.

When the ball hits the goal it's not shearer or cole, it's Zamora!

Still only unbeaten team in top 4 leagues in England. Prob end up just outside play offs but enjoying it for the moment.

Bobby is a proper hero, came back home despite having offers from some teams playing in Europe.
