A poor start to the season without a doubt both on and off the pitch. All is not lost though as previous seasons have shown, a run of results and things will look very different.

What has to change? The manager is the first aspect that needs addressing, I don't mean sack Jose that wouldn't make sense he's been successful in every job and clearly has an affection for Chelsea those thinking that he will walk are very wrong, for now at least. Does Roman have his finger on the trigger? Again I'd say no, there's plenty of football to play and opportunity to turn this season around.
The change has to be with Mr Mourinhos himself, he's done well winding people up with verbal carnage in the past but it simply isn't working at the moment, these soundbites always seem better from a position of power, curb the talking and concentrate on the job at hand. Turn inwards and get the group back together.

There's plenty of quality on the pitch but recognising the players that need replacing is key to turning this around, Ivanovic is not a right back and Cahill is simply not good enough, Zouma is young and needs guidance. The solution? Terry and Ivanovic as centre backs would give experience and strength and a strong base to work from, put Zouma in the right back slot and the back 4 is sorted.

Further forward, play to strengths and be hard to beat again Matic needs a partner and Loftus Cheek will give him help in there and provide a defensive shield that will allow the forwards to play, who's going to want to tiptoe through the middle with those two in there.

    So a core of.............

    Zouma Ivanovic Terry Azi
    RLC Matic
In my opinion work from that and the goals against will dry up, Chelsea will be back to nicking it 1-0 and the league will look different in 10 games time.

Further forward Chelsea fans would point to a wealth of talent, is it being used correctly? Oscar has found himself on the fringe of things but is undoubtedly a talented player and one that needs that defensive shield so that he can play without restriction, hard work and pace is also there with Willian, Fabregas again needs that shield so that the best of him comes out. In Costa that have a very unpopular but talented striker. All pieces of a jigsaw that should call into place if the defence is doing the required job.
What of the talents of Eden Hazard? One of the best dribblers in the league if not the world but too often there's no end product, too often that pass eludes him. On his day he's brilliant but true greats can turn a game at will whereas Hazard often fades from a match.
The money isn't as free flowing from the owner as it once was and with Hazards stock being so high Chelsea could cash in and add real quality with the sale of Hazard.

Alright Dave. I'm just finishing off my lunch of roasted rat salad, then I'm off for a busy afternoon of bin diving.

You up to much, barring counting all that lovely cash of yours lad?

It's the same players as last season. I definitely think it's something deeper within the club as there's no reason for them not to perform.

Oscar is the victim of an extremely bad haircut, this is definitely affecting his first team chances at the present. He needs to ditch the lego head and get a facial hair transplant asap.

Hazard will be off at the end of the season so they won't have to worry about him for too much longer. A classic Jose third season, disappointment followed by chaos.

I put a lot of this down to Terry personally. There's clearly some conflict between him and Mourinho.

You don't think it's Jose's missus? Don't tell me JT's been there as well?

Set the defence up like I said add that midfield and cash in on Hazard. Use that money wisely in January and your good to go.

Yeah I wouldn't say no to cashing in on Hazard if he really wants to go. Time will tell but I think there's more to it all.

There'll certainly be interest and a big fee, buy well with the cash and get someone with goals in him who's consistent.

Hazard will stay. We cant replace him and he has nowhere to go.

Honestly i just think a load of players were complacent and out of form come the start of the season.

It affected results which affected confidence, which affected form again. Teams smelt blood and went for us and we had a bad bad run.

This team isnt the most mentally strong. I remember atletico at home, burnley at home, psg home last year too. soooo many times our players heads have gone down and outside of terry, azpi, and costa we have no natural leaders or characters.

We'll be ok. Jose has the ticket now hopefully well do what we dod against villa-keep it compact and eek out results.

    We'll be fine

That seems said in a trying to convince yourself way?

Hazard being sold would enable you to go in and get 2 quality players, he's not anything special and seems to lack ideas at the moment. For example if Suarez became available then getting shot of Hazard and Suarez in would make sense, would it not?

    Much better performance tonight.

Been saying for a while that Iva could become Chelsea's senior defender and play CB when Terry retires alongside Cahill/Zouma.

But, with his confidence gone, unsure whether a move to CB is a good idea atm.
