I don't want Klopp to be another one who praises a player immediately before he drops them.

It looks like hes doing all he can at this stage. Attempt to bring up each players self confidence while gently stating they can all improve in what they've delivered so far. Whether their "very best" after said improvement keeps them in the first eleven over another player is a different matter. As is whether that improvement is enough to stop Klopp from looking to buy in a replacement.

It's why I said I'd be happy for each player to have a clean slate and I'd judge from Spurs game on. I'm quite critical on match days but it doesn't mean I'm writing a player off just that I expect more from them.

Where I disagree with Jimmy is that he seems unhappy that not everyone in our team, in all positions, is a top-notch ball player.
Whilst we'd all love a team of galacticos we have to be practical and accept that only a handful of club sides in the world can have that.
The rest of us have to get by with trying to make a balanced team of good solid professionals sprinkled with a few above average creative ones, and the odd worldie (if we're lucky).
Fergie created a dynasty of successful sides with that combination.

Milner is ok- most of his poor performances have come during the period when the whole team was playing badly, so it's difficult to point the finger at him or anyone.
If we can get better than the likes of him or Skrtel or Migs then we will. In the meantime we just have to get behind what we have.

We've waited long enough for a manager that we all believe can do the job- I'm sure we can wait a little longer to see what he can make of the players he has.

Milner is currently a vital cog in our midfield, not pretty but grinds hard.

A real Klopp type player. Henderson will be an absolute delight for Klopp when he's fit - basically a younger Milner. If Klopp plays his typical high pressing game that's hes known for (which he clearly will) then you can't really think of many harder working midfielders in the PL than those 2 currently. Add the flair and it should be a very well oiled machine.

If we manage to upgrade on the engine of Hendo and Milner (possibly looking abroad for strong box to box players) then all the better, if not I'm pretty certain Klopp is the manager that will get 100% out of the 2 we have.

Having 2 gives us options, throw Can into the mix and the engine is not too shabby. It just needs a little fine tuning, and we have the best man for the job imo.

I agree with all of that. At the moment I'm just happy to feel so positive about the direction we're going. If you allow negative thoughts in, they have a habit of multiplying so I try and keep mine to a minimum.

Exactly. And most people complained about him at first too.

Dirk scored goals and was a lot younger. He also wasn't on 160k a week and one of our highest paid players (when he joined). Plus his first name is Dirk.

Also Dirk is Dutch, not English so his attributes all automatically get increased by +5 due to the mystery foreign player factor.

Played some part - how many of those did he actually complete 90 mins?

To put it into context - prior to this season, Milner has played roughly the same amount of mins as Joe Allen since 2012. He was nothing more than a squad player for City.

He was often subbed on when the (worst) manager (to ever win the PL) realised he'd ****ed up leaving him out again

In the game against us we tore City apart, Milner came on and single-handedly turned it around
