That's about the most positive thing I've ever read in the Daily Fail. They couldn't quite add what he said just last Thursday that he would definitely be seeing out his contract, at the very least. After that, who knows, but he's not thinking about it. He said something very similar at the fans forum, but that wasn't good enough for the Fail not to reiterate that all of Holland want him. And they didn't even mention that the Dutch FA are actually sticking with Danny Blind until the bitter end, just so the article had spice.
Ralph says Saints will be going to North America in 2016, to coach and teach football overseas and to grow the club's reputation. This Sunday the game will be live on NBC (one of the main ch's) in the USA, non-subscription channel. So, the takeover has stated....... as it can't be Pool they are interested in!
To me, this is the most important development in the club since we were saved from oblivion. If successful (& I am sure it will be) this could substantially change the club both in terms of exposure to a major developing US market, massive potential revenues and commercial income. All of which are needed to take us forward Brilliant move by Saints Management Team!
Won't come as any surprise to learn they are having a row on Saintsweb about this fans' forum...about the fact that 500 people couldn't all ask a question, people took up precious time stating how long they'd been a fan, wasting time on a question about women's football, Ralph being embarrassing etc etc etc
500 people each asking a question in 1 hour! That would take some doing. Even if it was perfect some people will always find a reason to moan especially on Saintsweb.
I have to admit that I started from the end and worked backwards before losing the will to live....they may have started out more positively. Happens on the Echo website as well...start out as normal people, then downhill from there.
Dear Ralph, please arrange a friendly against Minnesota United from the 11th-20th July. Regards, Saints fan who will be in Minnesota then.
It will be interesting to see as to whether we affiliate ourselves with an MLS franchise or if we get in with the colleges. It seems unlikely that we would set-up our own infrastructure. I guess one option could be to franchise our coaching program to schools and colleges. A bag of Saints branded footballs & bibs, a subscription to our coaching app and off you go. Sounds like Ralph will be announcing something at the beginning of next year.
Just had a quick peak at that SaintsWeb thread, what a crock! Do those guys know that they are self opinionated, disrespectful oafs, or I guess they don't actually have a sense of fairness or give a monkeys what anyone else thinks? Glad they wouldn't let me join, I could get quite abusive, not like me at all!
There was a time when The Saints Web was OK, but it got changed. 1] they started charging £5. That meant the casual poster left and the committed ones with an axe to grind joined, because they were like minded, if not of the same opinion. 2] The forum respect took a nose dive and that's when it became boring to be involved anymore. I spent all my time beating out fires, as they finally drove out anyone with a moderate outlook. Admittedly, this was during the time when Saints were all but dead and gone, but I saw plenty of well meaning supporters give up trying at TSW. The usual answer to a mod's request for respect was that we're not kids here. Indeed no, kids might be better behaved. Saints Forever, before TSW, went the same way. Once the respect went people couldn't stop tearing into one another, and that was during the WGS era, so the times were OK. Members might wonder why I/we make a big deal about respect for other opinions here. We don't want to end up like those forums. It's so easily sleepwalked into.
Its probably a Saints Web poster who writes for Shoot magazine. An embarrassingly negative spin on what the vast majority seem to think was pretty positive. I never really understood what trolling was until I went on the Saints web. Some of them are just on a wind up I'm sure rather than actually believing what they say. Not 606 by comparison is a great place where you can disagree without falling out and long may it continue.
