Indeed he did. Should help liven up a dull Monday morning as Luv and the Leicester fans genuinely seem to think Vardy is some kind of world class striker!
Klopp has apparently called Milner 'Perfect' 'He's the complete player, perfect professional, a machine everything is there' Jimmys going to be confused now, His hero Klopp calling a player he thinks is average, perfect!
Would walk into the United team atm to be fair. See er depay has been warned not he needs to get better and flop like di Maria and falcao as well, the love in lasted long with him
It took Jimmy two seasons to become confused about Rodgers. Who had two weeks in the Klopp sweepstake?
Any player on a hot streak would walk into any team while they are on a hot streak. Sterling for example would walk into any team in the world at the minute. Depay hasn't been playing well so he was dropped. The team performed very well without him. That's good management.
He'll write it off as PR, and convince himself that Klopp really shares his opinion on MIlner, as how could he not? #tacticalgenius
... didn't say he was better ... just made the point that Fat Boy Dim has hardly set major competitions alight and that it might be time to consider a plan B ... personally I'd like to see Vardy and Walcott in the squad (if not the starting line-up) for their sheer pace ... because, let's face it, we are not going to progress far by attempting to out pass technically superior teams ... ... and nobody is getting carried away with his hot streak - but his pace and movement are fantastic and he is leading the scoring charts on merit ... not just bagging against the lesser lights but also a double against Arsenal for instance...
Rooney is England captain, he's bound to be picked if fit. Not saying that I agree with that, as players should be picked on form alone when it comes to England, however, we've both been around long enough to realise that's never how it works. I can't say I'm a massive fan of Vardy, but he could suit a counter attacking style. On current form he's a shoo in to go to France, but there's a long time between now and June was my point
I didn't say he is worth that did I, I actually said he wouldn't be worth that to a buying club. I quoted the current market which is ludicrous as it is, and also stated various points that add value such as length of contract, England appearances and the face we don't need to sell. In addition, the cost it'd take to replace him. Values are set by the selling club and if nobody wants to pay, the player stays (see Charlie Austin). My comments are also based on if Vardy continues the form. Any real supporter (non armchair) would see my comments as balanced and logical based in recent transfers. I will repeat again, he's not worth that much to anyone else but to us, yes he damn well is atm
.. don't think any Leicester fans are actually claiming that ... however, name me one English World Class Striker? ... and that's the point ... with the bunch we have currently he is well worth consideration for our national team and he has something that defenders, whatever their nationality, hate ... raw pace .. combined with little respect for reputations, agression, and a willingness to put his body on the line whatever it takes ... what's not to love?
Not as such but its likely to be what it'd cost if someone like Liverpool or Spurs come in for him so it was the comments of him going for 15 mill that I was commenting about. I wasn't arguing anyway, just putting some points into the discussion
I haven't said he's not worth a place in the England team. I said he's an average player going through a purple patch. I 100% stand by that comment!
Thanks for clearing that up. No-one would ever pay £25-30m for him as he's never worth that kind of money. Your club not wanting to sell him and maybe sticking some ridiculous figure on his head to deter any suitors, isn't the same as saying his market value is £Xm
Oh I agree 100%, yes to clear up I was talking what it'd cost for us to part (hopefully) as oppose to a market figure that gets generated electronically and I stand by that figure in that sense for the reasons I put. I'm sure we'd all agree the market has gone way OTT and most players now go for inflated fees more than market value as clubs don't want to sell (unless it's nugent in which 4 mill had Boro's pants down!!
