Rate the performance of Simon Mignolet at White Hart Lane. Average player under one manager can be a good player under another one !.
He made a couple of worldy saves. He's always been a great shot stopper. If he hones the rest of his game he could be a good keeper.
Nah mate he does the simple things well and works hard. Yes he has his limitations but he recognises that and concentrates on doing the basics right. Football can be a very simple game. A lot of players should look at his shooting technique, it's superb, same with heading the ball.
There's a reason why it's taken him to the age of 28 to go through this purple patch. Top players display their quality from an early age. The only top player I can think of in the modern game who came late to the party is Ian Wright and he was banging in goals for Arsenal when he was Vardy's age. No doubt Spurs will spunk £15million on Vardy next summer and then look bewildered until they offload him on a free back to Leicester.
Thanks for directing us here Luvgonzo. The funniest bit about the above is suggesting he'll only cost 15 million! In today's market and with the length of his contract (until 2018) and his value to us (LCFC) and what it'd cost to replace that value to the team, I'd expect us to sell for not less than 25/30 million. If players like Benteke are going for that, so can Vardy. I'd not expect him to be worth that to a buying club however so the best solution all round would be for him to stay
Utter nonsense, some players just get a better understanding of the game as they get older. Nobody is saying he's the new Messi just that he's getting it all right at the moment and is a very good player. It's not all luck or a purple patch as the way his hitting the ball is all down to work on the training ground to get that technique right. A lot of players could learn from that, hitting a ball hard and straight seems beyond some, his work rate is also superb, he wants to do well and has decided to throw himself into his work, again another thing other players could learn.
£25-30m for 28 yr old Vardy? You're on crack if you seriously think that's his value. He got 5 in 36 last season, he's just hit a purple patch at the start of this one. Stan is right, he's bang average at this level.
Maybe Spurs would pay that. However, they'd be nuts based on 10 good games. The younger Benteke has a close to 1 in 2 scoring record in the PL and a close to 1 in 3 scoring record in international football. His transfer fee was mental but he almost guarantees goals and good strikers are hard to find. Vardy has a 1 in 3 scoring record in the PL propped up by a purple patch of 9 in 9. His record last year was 1 in 7! Prior to that he tore up the Championship for 2 seasons by breaking records with his 1 in 3 average! He's a decent player going through a good spell. Nothing more than that.
Interesting: If Brendan Rodgers was in charge last Saturday we are going to concede at least one goal. Question: Are we going to score to get a draw???
... so instead, intenationally, let's rely on a podgy player in denial of a bald patch eh? ... because that works at major tournaments doean't it? ...
So all of a sudden Vardy is now better then Rooney? Ok mate.... If he continues throughout the season scoring goals at anything like the rate he is at the minute, he'll play himself into the England team. But ****ing off early season over a hot streek after his record was poor last season, is way OTT.
If that's how you support the theory that Vardy is somehow a £25-30million player then you're heading towards Astro territory.
