Apparently we're on the verge of cancelling Jason Puncheon's contract as his behaviour while in exile with the youth squad has been atrocious, culminating yesterday with an incident where members of the youth team had to pull him off of academy manager Matt Crocker after a training ground bust up. Can anybody confirm whether this is true or not?
Saw it on another website, a friend of a youth player was reporting it - not sure if it's true that's why I was asking if anyone knew of anything
Thanks to his track record of being a happy-go-lucky easy going bundle of joy its hard to imagine that he would get involved in such a scuffle.... Strange that he has done well at Millwall and Blackpool and yet we still havent managed to sell him on. I wonder if there have been offers but NC is holding out for an offer he deems acceptable, or if his exemplary temperament and roof shattering ego has put teams off. It will be a shame if we dont get any money for him, but if he is still causing problems then get rid of him asap. Maybe im being harsh, but hes not training with the youth team because hes a nice lad.
He refuses to talk directly to us anymore. But his cousin says he is really peed off right now. Bids have come and gone for Puncheon and Cortese hasn't accepted, JP has made it clear he wants to leave before August 31st but Cortese won't accept a duff deal. This wouldn't surprise me, he is a right big time charlie.
Seems very likely that he would do something like that. What a big headed t**t. He was a great player but after some fans started to get on his back he obviously gave up putting effort in and just stopped caring. Cortese is right to wait until the right offer comes in. He is under contract and should respect that!
My prediction - we will keep him into the start of the season, someone in the Champ/bottom of the Prem will have a crap start, panic and throw money at us, job done.
About time someone taught the boy some decency and made him think about his position. Most of us would cut of our right arm to be a pro footballer and there he is ruining his career because he thinks he is some big shot with loads of talent and should be in the big league......wake up and smell the roses little boy with your attitude the way it is at the moment you will be lucky to playing in the conference.....God I hate the big time wannabees who think they are all that
Everyone on here seems to have a negative opinion of puncheon however the poster still does not name the site he saw it on. It may be true as JP is portrayed as a trouble maker, But we should cut the man some slack until this rumour is proved. After all most people on this site with club sources etc are just as clueless as the rest of us really. (Give or take 1 or 2) We would still have him playing for us if our great fans supported him better when he was on the pitch. That didn't happen and now we both want rid.
I think this may be just another of those rumours you tend to get when everyone is bored out of their skull without footie......I was so bored the other night I nearly went up the Rose bowl. Thankfully my wife put her foot down and I went shopping instead. Oh whoopee dee!!!!!!!!!!
I'm affraid i was not as strong as you. I'm not keen on cricket but went with friends as they are members and had a free ticket. I miss football !!
I saw this specific rumour on the football rumours site. As I have seen it no where else and no one apart from here as mentioned it, i think its all lies although he probably is capable of causing a lot of drama at the training ground!!
As Nicola didn't sell him in January because the offer wasn't good enough and hasn't sold him in this window for same reason, I can't see him writing off the money by cancelling his contract. I think the original problem started because Puncheon angled for a transfer which offended NC, but this has gone so sour I would just sell him.
I think "Don Cortese" is teaching Puncheon a valuable life lesson - acting like a spoilt git gets you nowhere! He will be sold when NC wants him sold, not when Puncheon wants it.
