I think he left him out yesterday. It's hilarious, every club that has never experienced Fat Sham thinks he's a quality manager. Only those who've had him (since Bolton anyway) know just how depressing and life-sapping it is watching his teams, the results are largely irrelevant.

Similar situation to what we had with Pardew tbh although in hindsight I would have to admit he was doing a slightly better job than given credit for.

He is what Sunderland need. I wouldn't **** about with him in charge. These guys would take a midtable finish regardless of performances. Effort is what matters (like us really despite popular opinion)

Nee comment about Pardew. I wouldn;t want to subject these guys to my tirade.

If your only aim is to stay in the Premier League indefinitely, you have no aspirations of enjoying the games or kicking on, then he's great.

Only a small handful of clubs fit that bill though, Sunderland are evidently one of them.
Personally I'd rather be ****e and try to play attacking, exciting football than be slightly less ****e and as pragmatic a Sam team.

Just checked by the way and Defoe was on the bench yesterday. Awful manager, I'd pack football in if he came back to Newcastle.

What's the beef with Pants? Not his fault the ref couldn't spot a blatant foul on him yesterday!

Where do we play him? Can't lead the line, ****e out wide (debatable), play 2 up top and we may as well give teams a 3 goal start , our midfield is that shambolic atm.

Fair enough. Don't think Colback and Anita have enough about them to trouble M'vila etc. Defoe vs Colo would only end one way imo. Play to score. DOn't worry about conceding. Neither team has a spot on defence anyway

Mate if we both went all out attack would be a MENTAL record breaking affair 38-49 ( not sure who too mind), both defenses really are that bad. We will set up defensively and 0-0 for my money.

Id rather watmore got the nod over defoe if im honest. But for what its worth i reckon he will go with Toi (if fit) or fletcher up top.

Toi v Colo would be a canny battle i reckon.

Our midfield 2 are possibly the worst pairing in the league but 4-4-2 has worked far better for us than 4-3-3. Big man - little man and an attacking mentality is the way forward mate but it's a foregone conclusion that Sam won't play like that.

IMO at the moment dodgy handling is taking away from his good saves and his distribution is regularly slow & poor - others still rate him - I just don't feel he re offers stability to our fragile defence. Mannone did - but Pants probably stays for derby - esp after Big Sam post match comments re players - looking forward to our passionate derby - Good game I hope -close high scoring makem Win

I remember my first match after ourpromotion in 63-64 season - Leicester H Monty injured 15 yr old Derek Foster in goal - magnificent congratulated at end by Gordon Banks - think Pickford asap but he's on season long loan at Preston - I think

    And lose the 3rd.
That's 4 years and 4 managers in a row have identical records in 1st 3 games.
