Few things that make this game very even today: * This is one of the feistiest rivalries in World Cup rugby. There's no love lost between these two and Argentina have dumped Ireland out more than once * Ireland's best players are missing * Ireland have never won a quarter final match in the World Cup * Argentina have been resting players for the last few weeks in preparation for this one. They've made 10 changes for today's game * Argentina ran New Zealand close and New Zealand destroyed France. That puts Ireland's win over France in context For those reasons I believe this will be a very tight match and could swing either way. No excuses though. If the Argies win they're better and deserve to go through. Its all about strength in depth at this level (PS Taff, what are Bosnia like in the Soccer? Are they a decent side?)
Anyone thinking the Argies are a pushover should read this... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/33838013
The betting suggests Ireland are expected to win by just 2-3 points. I've been well impressed with the Argies from what I've seen and think they're value at 2.8
With Wales gone (but with what spirit, glad Im not French!!)....my full support now goes to our Celtic cousins Ireland... I really believe Ireland are going beat Argentina, Ireland want it so much more.
Indeed - the opportunity to do some real damage in a tournament on British soil. They'll be up for it right enough. Must say I will miss Wales not being in the tournament. The matches against Australia and SA were utterly compelling.
