Yeah like the commentator said go for his legs. No point in trying to run into his body.

    Punch there from a Picamoles.

A NZ v Australia final would be epic.

Any other final would be a travesty. The 2 best teams in the world by a mile.

Wow!! Loved the rugby served up by NZ tonight. Wonderful handling skills to thrill us all. With rugby played like that, is there a better game in the world to watch?

Not for the first time in my life, I'm glad I'm not French. Wasn't expecting that; a total mismatch, frankly.

I like rugby, but it tends not to throw up as many surprises as football. Usually I don't hope for the 2 best sides to get through in competitions (as I like an underdog winning), but in rugby, if that doesn't happen, the final can be a farce. Better to have a match between 2 matched sides. If it happens I will be torn....normally I would go for anyone against Australia, but in rugby, NZ are so precious about themselves that I don't know who to hate** the most. Shall just watch it unfold and decide then.

**No, I don't really hate them, before anyone objects to the word.

You never know, Scotland might beat Australia.

    No, all right then.

The people of New Zealand, it seems, have made a decision over the last 100 years or so, that rugby is their thing. It appears to have become a vehicle for their national self-image, and more importantly, for the unification of the various races and peoples who make up the population of those paradise islands. And the sport is structured in such a way that everything points towards making the national team the best it can possibly be. There are no privately-owned clubs giving the players conflicting interests, in contrast with most other sports in most other countries, including Britain. I suppose the closest we come to that mindset is giving Lottery funding to various sports in preparation for the Olympics, but even that pales in comparison to the support the All Blacks have from their public. Like it or not, that's how you take a sport in a country with a population less than 5 million to the top of the world, and I admire and applaud them for it.

Yeah, I'll certainly take them winning over Australia any day, plus I love watching Carter/McCall/Nonu and more recently Savea play.

Carter is back to his best, which is the best in the world, and Nonu is getting back to the marauding wolf pack he resembles. Savea was a beast last night, totally unplayable. That match showed the very best of Rugby Union, and New Zealand are only just about beginning to hit their straps. The semifinal and final are quite a prospect!

There are only three reasons why it could ever be ok to want to be French:

    1. Wine
    2. Cheese
    3. Life pace
