Wales are off their feet That's two of my three predictions gone belly up. The big one tonight is where I'll make my money
Been that sort of day....Directly Biggar went off the pendulum and equilibrium swang away..... Great spirit from the Welsh lads.
Very tense, full commitment, but least entertaining game I've seen so far. 4 southern hemisphere teams for the semis?
One of the analysts on TV3 over here said....." that if the South Africans had a brain they could be dangerous".....which i thought was quite amusing.....his point was that they only look for the point of contact and look to basically bully the opposition out of the way and that either France or NZ wouldn't be too worried about playing them as they are very one dimensional and have no flair......
Was it twice or three times the tackle count by Wales compared to SA, it was something ridiculous for a game that was won by 4 points.....
We needed to take our early chances - but didn't, and gave away too many kickable penalties in the first half. Heroic defence - reminiscent of a Rorke's Drift at times. At the end, the better side won. So that is still only 1 victory over a (top) Southern Hemisphere country in a RWC match, and that was against Australia in the 3rd/4th Play-Off game way back in 1987......... they played almost the whole game with 14 men, and we only won that with the last kick of the game by my old mate Paul Thorburn.
