    Hilarious!

Backed because he's "doing the right things" and he's "on the right track".

Allardyce & Hughton were sacked and they had the club much higher in the league.

I'm not suggesting the blame lay solely with SM and his coaches but to say that the players "are responding" to what they're trying to do does bring a wry smile.

After we lose to Sunderland he will have to be cleansed. Harsh but fair I feel.

Why shouldn't we back the manager? Especially when Pardew was given full backing after winning only 1 out of 9 against the mackems...

Not saying I love the wally in the brolly, but imo we can't keep sacking managers...

On a side note, I want it made illegal for the mackems to sack a manager before a derby!

Considering that Pardew left under his own steam and was after everything that happened still in his job I would hardly call us a sacking club, quite unusual really when you consider that the general response to any issue for a Premier League club is to sack the manager. McClaren said originally to judge him after 10 games, so 2 matches to change the general opinion that he is up to his neck in quicksand while claiming to be sat on the beach enjoying the sun.

Lose on Sunday and lose the derby - McClaren will walk. He won't be sacked. Charnley and Carr will then get together and hire another one of Carr's 'recommendations' to take over. Deja vu.

Just feels like pardew's still here with schteve. Same pathetic and puppet-esque interviews, same toothless defence and attack that are only arsed if they play big teams. The footballs abit better on the eye but hes just not as effective at being pardew than pardew. Genuinely starting to think we're going down with schteve but i dont entirely blame him, he hasn't been given a great squad (defence in mind), just think all that can save us now is a pulis-type to beat some sense into the backline. Sunderlands got it ryt wi big sam. Theyre guna see some ball-achingly bad football but he'll get results and id have my money on allardyce keeping them up more than schteve keeping us up.
We beat norwich on sunday ill have hope but, if our form for aeons now is ewt to go by i dont see it

Entirely possible that he will walk if we lose the next two.
Has form for it, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Luckily, Charnley had the foresight to offer Captain Colo that new contact, with special Clause 2371.1A inserted, with Colo taking over as Player/Coach in the event that McClaren flopped.

SM reckons too much arousal leads to underperformance........

Don't know what eyes ya got if you think this is an improvement on Pardew, in this position last year he got the team playing and winning some matches, those points kept us up in the end.

He won't go. We have Charnley, who has no clue what he's doing. His boss is also an idiot in football at least. The circle of trust Ashley employs is currently biting hard on the stock market at SD, it's also the reason this club is struggling so badly. Won't change though.

Surely the financial incentive of staying up must mean Steve will go? He's been the worst manager we've had under Mike Ashley... Which is quite some boast considering the contenders for that award!

Wrong choice completely for what we're trying to do, at least the Mackems have had the right kind of idea (although I firmly believe they'll go down playing horrendous guff). We need to be realistic and hire a footballing dinosaur who favours substance over style!

With some of the egos we have, the last person we should have appointed was McClaren. Transfer policy aside, if you are going to sign young foreign players, you at least need a well respected foreign coach. De Boer would have been absolutely perfect. But no, Carr gets his way and we appointed McClaren. He is going to take us down if he stays. He is a dinosaur who is completely out of his depth.

If we lose tomorrow and next week, he will walk. Any patience fans had will quickly evaporate.

They won't sack him. That would be admitting they got it wrong again. But I can see mclaren bottling it if we lose this next runof two games. It would be historic if we lost the next two games. Ashley will have to bite his lip and stick with him.

Carr seems to have far too much power and say over decisions that are crucial for the club moving forward. He frequently displays poor judgement and if we believe that he usually gets his way ref transfers and latterly the appointment of the head coach, then l would be even more concerned about the future. l lay the majority of the blame for our current plight firmly at his door. Poor signing after poor signing, it seems as though once he identifies a target we pursue them season after season, even when they show no desire to play for our club, and to make matters worse whilst we continue to court these targets, other equally or in some cases better options slip through the net.
For me Carr needs to take a serious look at himself and if he is allowed to continue unchecked we can only expect more of the same until we are relegated.
The squad is weak and lillylivered, it has no spine and no heart, for me that's down to Carr and the influence he exerts.

The model is so flawed it's laughable. What's worse is it is demonstrably bad with one 5th place anomaly, yet the powers that be apply no logic to it instead believing 5th to be the only proof required.

The only real conclusion is that Ashley is employing and listening to the wrong people. Said people are trying to stay employed and are spinning lies up about the running of the club. Taking Moncur to this imaginary board is another jobs for the boys masterstroke, and by being Mini-Mike (as Charnley is so unlovingly called) the MD has a horrible stranglehold on this club. Much like SD, the whole club feels cheap, soulless and run on a shoe string. The collective at the top thought they could throw a few million and sell a story to everyone but ultimately without either a love for the club or a desire to succeed on the pitch we are always destined for failure.

Sad to say but if it guaranteed a clear out from the owner down I'd take relegation in a heart beat.
