We cannot keep blowing leads at home. It's just not good enough.

I'm guessing because he was tired/hurt and didn't feel he had the legs to win a sprint anymore.

Leicester are the comeback kings this season. We must have known what was coming second half. Disappointing.

Great game to watch and fair result.
Our sloppy defending first half from set play. All tho thought your 2nd was offside.
Second half we was on fire and some great football and vardy can't stop scoring.
Good luck for the rest of the season.
    Except the reverse fixture.

Keeping things in perspective, disappointing, but not disastrous. I do agree that perhaps Ronald's choice of substitutes was questionable at best (I was very surprised to see Clasie come on at that stage. Agreed with the sub to try and shore things up, but surely Romeu was the correct choice). I wonder if Cedric was having problems with his eye or not.

2-0 at home to a very capable Leicester side, I have to agree with an earlier poster that Romeu would have been a better option that Clasie, especially considering its his return from a fairly lengthy injury. Seems a fairly obvious decision at that.

To be fair you don't see many teams press that hard for the entirety of a second half either. Sustained possession would have been nice but Leicester were always going to fight tooth and nail to not allow us that, but we did get Mane in behind their defence twice and you would expect most of the time to him have made it 3 and killed Leicester's spirit.

I'm surprised that the overreaction from many (Not you, LTL) still surprises me.

That's just they way it goes sometimes, Leicester are on a big upward swing at the moment but clubs like them (and us) know that a downward slip is always just around the corner.

Maybe when we play them away they'll be in that phase. Plus of course every Saints player, bar Kelvin, played international matches in the week and travelled.

Ho hum, I'd rather but upset at losing two points to Leicester than be a Sunderland fan at the moment, and of course I broke my own rule by predicting a Saints win in the Prediction League.

I don't understand our set up in the second half. You know Liecester have some fast and tricky players, they like to run in behind, run at you with pace. So sit deep, tighten up, deny them space. But no, we tried to chase them all over the pitch. We played into their hands i that's what i can't get, it's so unKoeman.

After seeing us so disorganised in the second half, I really don't fancy a trip to Anfield next round.

Echoing everyone elses sentiments really. Leicester had a phenomenal second half but we really did let them run over us and unsettle us in possession. Romeu would have been the correct choice in hindsight but i think Ron rates Jordy as a world class player capable of doing everything Romeu does and adding to our forward movement.

Disappointing to lose a lead but lets not forget that Leicester have had an absolutely blinding start to the season and a 2-2 result would be considered more than fair when looking at form etc.

True enough. They were tenacious as hell. Can't see them having any problems this season playing like that. Never thought of a Ranieri team playing like that - felt more Pochettino.

Still, we're 8th. Not bad at all.

You can't have seen them earlier then? Not an awful lot to worry anyone if they play like that again.

I was okay with Clasie. It didn't work out, but we paid him a lot of money to do just what he was supposed to do. And tbf, it's unfair to single him out as we were dominated in all areas.

Yoshida for Soares was much more questionable with their speedy wingers, but like you I suspect that was not tactical. Guessing Soares' eye was swelling up and the trainers may even have told Koeman at half-time that Soares was only good for another 10 minutes before he'd have vision problems.

Yeah, good points. Presumably the club feel Yoshida is a better option at full back than Martina (I'm still not really sure why we bought him).

Koeman obviously wants to give Clasie time on the pitch and that may have played a part in his decision. Probably a similar thing with Rodriguez. You need to balance that desire to bring players back and the needs of the match. He could easily have brought Romeu on instead of Clasie or even done it that bit later instead of Rodriguez and pushed JWP further forward.

Mind you it is frustrating, when was the last time a Southampton side came back from a 2-0 half-time deficit? MK Dons in L1 was 1-0 at half-time and I think a 4-2 win at Chelsea many years ago was 2-1 at halftime.

I genuinely cannot recall the last time, that's why if you see Saints have gone 2-0 down, they've lost.

One of those days, but had we held on, we would be in 5th place tonight.
